How is Vero Beach in January?

Just pondering future trip possibilities and wondering what others have experienced at Vero in January. Was it cold by the beach? Was it warm enough to swim in the pools? I've been to FL in January before so I know the weather varies, but I haven't been to the Atlantic coast in January before. Besides the weather, is there anything else to know about possibly going there in January sometime in the future?

I spent a the second or third week in January at VB in 2012 & 2013. I only went in the hot tub in 2012, I was just too cold, but enjoyed the pool a lot this year.

I'm going back again, the third week!

I don't know but we signed up for 4 nights MLK weekend. Just bought in and had points we have to use by end of January. We also have a trip planned Dec 2014 to BLT so another WDW was necessary for us.

Would love to hear answers.

We went in February one year. It was nice to visit and walk around, but too cold to swim.
