Hey everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone could tell me their experience with taking a BANK TELLERS test and if so what was on it and how was it? Also does it require alot of intense math Skills? Any help is appreciated:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Yikes? There's a test now?

Honestly, I don't remember taking any test. At the time I was hired, I was more concerned about the typing ability they required, which I had none of (pre-internet) ;) . I got the job, moved UP thru the ranks, and transfered to other departments as well. It was a GOOD experience for me.

Math is DEFINATELY a part of being a bank teller! You have to count, at the very minimum. ;)

Best wishes! Keep ME posted, ok? ;)

Yes I Put in an Application and they say they will call to schedule a test when a position for a teller opens up!! I am good in average math but defiantly not calculus type math lol!! It would defiantly be a part time job while I finish up my college career!! Thanks so much for your advice and good wishes!! Im just a very shy person;)

Hey! I was a teller and Head Teller for quite a few years, and loved it! If you are good at basic math (addition and subtraction), enjoy working with people, can keep your cool in pressure situations, and are able to adapt to the "fast/slow" pacing of your day, I'd recommend being a teller.

The biggest part of the job is being accurate and fast. You will be responsible for large sums of money, and if you don't balance at the end of your shift, you are accountable (by your pay raise- or lack therof- at review time).

As far as the test, the best advice I can give is to brush up on your typing skills. Also, a big part of the job is quickly working out sums. You will have an adding machine (within your computer or teller machine) to assist you, but becoming fast at figuring in your head the change due to a customer is important.

Good luck- I think if you are willing to put some effort into training, you will love being a teller as much as I did.::yes::

My sister trains for a credit union and they don't test for hiring, only at the end of the training to see if you are ready to be on your own.
