Wondering who has been to the maya grill at coronado springs for the breakfast buffet and also for dinner. Would this be a nice romantic dinner place or not? How is the food as well?

Great breakfast buffet! Love the breakfast burritos! Nice, fresh fruit and friendly waitstaff. Never seem to get much info. on this place for dinner. We had dinner there years back but not since the menu change.

I've been trying to get some info from anybody who had dinner at the Maya Grill for a while now. I think the whole Maya theme sounds interesting and I want to try it too. But since it's off the beaten path for me I was hoping to get a review or two before I do. There is another poster on these boards, Forever42, who writes super restaurant reviews and she is going to eat there on May 30. (I believe that's the date) Hopefully, nothing will come up that will change this and she will post a review of the place. IMHO, she's really good at it and I'm looking forward to reading what she has to say. So, unless you find what your looking for sooner, keep your eyes open for it.

I'm waiting for Forever42's review of Maya Grill also. Her reviews are fantastic.

We stayed at CSR last June but didn't eat at Maya Grill since I hadn't heard anything at all about it. We're staying there again this June, so we may eat there then depending on what Forever42 has to say. :D

According to Uncleromulus, another superb and exacting WDW dining critic, the Maya Grill's menu is considerably less inventive ever since they eliminated some of the "fusion" cuisine in favor of traditional, regular Tex-Mex grub. In other words, it's good but not spectacular - for dinner, that is.

I had dinner there in Feb and I was not very impressed. I've since discovered that MG is run by the same company that runs San Angel Inn at Epcot, which does not make me eager to try SAI.

The ambiance is nice, but that doesn't make up for the below-average fare and lousy service I recieved. I would head down the road to DAK Lodge for Jiko if looking for a romantic meal with excellent service and unique menu items.

Aww, thanks guys! I'm still going to go, yes, on the 30th, as long as nothing comes up.

I have also heard that in the past the menu was more inventive. From AllEarsNet, the appetizers sound more interesting than the entrees, so we may just share one entree and have appetizers and desserts. And a margarita, of course. :)

I didn't care much for dinner. Too California Mexican and not that many choices for me. I'd prefer Boma instead. But I loved the breakfast buffet.

Maya Grill is great for breakfast, they have the best bacon I've ever tasted! Fresh fruit, lots of other choices it's usually not to crowded, very pleasant, we tried dinner once, dh liked it i thought it was pretty bad. I got a steak, it was very grissely and fatty I couldn't eat more than half of it. But we really Love it for breakfast! Well that's my 2 cents- enjoy your trip! .....goof

Well--I wouldn't call it particularly romantic (even when they had the better menu) and I honestly can't comment on dinner as we've not eaten there since the menu switch. I don't know for sure, but since this is a convention hotel, I think the menu switch was made in order to attract more of the "in-house" guests. Maya is rather off the beaten path and I think that cut down on people travelling there to have dinner.

BUt the breakfast buffet is fine--mostly the traditional items, along with a breakfast burrito of which Mrs. Uncleromulus is quite fond.
