How is the DVC Christmas Tree pass going?

Paula H i am so sorry to hear you didnt get the tree for your time, nanajoyx2 did get the tree dec.1 or 2nd thru the 5th, i have not heard from mitymott, their dates were dec. 5-9..... gail & Joe dates are dec. 12-23 and mine are the 23rd ....... i have read some trees were at the front desk, bellhop, house keeping...one post said their tree was sitting with the golf club bags, the trees were suppose to have been dropped off at the bellhop desk and picked up at the bellhop desk to advoid any confusion...
again i am very sorry, i will have to call the resort to see if i can track the tree down.

:sad2: :sad1:

paul h i just checked my list and their was no other gfamily that had dec. 9 th pick for any of the 4 vwl trees except for you, so there couldnt have been a mix up with the trees. i hope no one took the tree. i will pm mitymott to see if they had gotten the tree on their dates.

Sorry I haven't posted sooner, but I'm having trouble with the boards. We picked up the VWL #1 tree on 12/5 at the front desk and returned it to bell ser on 12/9 at around 8:30 am to dennis from bell ser.

Allright, I finally I got a post through. The VWL#1 tree is beautiful. As I posted I left the tree with dennis from bell serv. on 12/9. I hope that someone at the lodge can find the box. It was clearly marked as to who would be getting it. I even took a moment to explain to dennis what the box was and who would be picking it up. He said he understood, it wasn't a prob, and that he would take care of it. I am so sorry if in any way I've caused a problem with the tree pass as I was so excited to be part of it. The tree was beautiful a fiber optic tree with red ribbon, pine cones, and snowmen. It was decorated perfectly for the lodge.

:cool1: I recieved the tree Right at Check in On Sunday December the 5th. Without even asking about it! Camille was right on top of things!
I did decorate the balcony and put the tree in front of the windows!

Thanks so much to the Cox family and the Staugitis family groups. My twins we a little nervous sending the tree along ahead for someone else. They were afraid they wouldn't get it back.
When we recieved the box and they found the gifts you guys had left with it. They learned a valuable lesson about sharing. When they opened the box. I took the oppurtunity to say.. now see. You were kind and shared and they were kind back and shared with you. And we talked a little about that and how it is always important to be kind to people. Sounds corny I know, But honest any oppurtunity to teach them ethics and kindness is always a good thing! Thanks again everyone!

I had left the BWV#2 tree on 12/8 at the BWV Bell Services for pick up by the second person, who is staying at SSR. I tried to call Jennifer before I left and was told there was no one by her name at SSR. I just tried to call again and was told the same thing! I have an email from her saying the ressie is in her name.

So, I'm not sure about the BWV#2 tree now. I'm a little concerned.............

I'm going to email the third person on the list for a heads up.

Just an FYI when I dropped off Boardwalk tree number one for the Helsey family. the cm at Bell services said. One of the parties had canceled... And I said no my tree had so far been to everyone on the list as I was 3 of 3 passers at that point. That would be about right if I was told that on the 10th. Perhaps it was your guest on the 8th that was canceled?

WDW Star - Don't feel bad - it was clearly a mix up at the bell desk. On the first day of our trip we went into the bell storage room to get some items from our baggage, and it is huge!! There was a woman at the desk when I went down at about 8 p.m. and she said they didn't have it, but she didn't even go look. She just told me to go talk to guest relations. I saw lights on the balcony of a room earlier in the week and wondered if they were from the tree swap - the room was on an upper floor facing the pool. I'm sure if the next family got a different person manning the desk, they were able to get the tree. Thanks again for organizing this and I was the only one in my family disappointed - it was a surprise for the kids, so nothing lost on that front. Happy holidays.

thank you mitymott, hopefully gail & Joe will have better luck finding the tree..

Paul H again i am sorry about the tree, after working on this almost a year and to have one person that just didnt want to be bothered by looking for the tree for you , doesnt make this magical for me unless every family receives the tree like i promised.

on a good note i have received pms from dvc families and their dates for next christmas .

i would like if you could wait until Jan. 2005 to pm me with your dates, i would like to see the results of this tree passing and to figure out how i can improve on the passing of the trees. thank you !

Merry Christmas !

We are the 3rd person for the 2nd tree at the BWV. No one could find the tree! Nancy, I'll be on internet in am & pm so if you find out something, let me know. I hope we find your tree!!

i am starting to think these bellhops at the dvc resorts are either geting tired of this tree passing or just dont want to be bothered to look for the trees.

i am very sorry if you and your family's couldnt enjoy the DVC christmas trees.

I'm just curious. It was MIA when were there. I'd love to hear if Bell Services ever figured out where they put it after Mitymot dropped it off.

Bell Services found it - I just called and they located it. Emailed Michelle to let her know!

Whew!

I posted my experiene in my trip report but much like stimpy the bell desk at the BCV told my DH the couldn't find it. The sent him to the DVC desk and guest services to ask. Of course they didn't know anything about it. He went back on day 2 and again said they couldn't find it. On day 3 I went personally down and described the box I had sent it in and whose name was the first on the list. A very nice CM told me she would personally look after she took care of another issue. When we returned that night it was in our room and she had left a nice message to follow up. When I sent it back down I wrote in big letters the next family's name. My DH took it to the bell desk, tipped the bell person, and asked that it be sent to the room when they checked in the next day. We'll see what happens!

Paula H i pmed Gail & Joe they were next on the list. and i have not heard anything back from them. i arrive on the 23rd and i am very curious to see where the 1st VWL tree is sitting, Since i am the original owner of the tree and i need to hand the tree off to my sister to take it home for me.

ceejay13 the next family on the list is goldilocks_63 , i know her and i wonder if she received your tree for the BCV.

this is so strange that bellhop keeps losing these trees

i have not heard from anyone from OKW, SSr i wonder how the tree swapping is going there. :teleport:

We got the VWL tree #2 without much problem last Sunday and placed it in bell services Friday as we left. I know it was in the luggage room as I had to go in there looking for another bag that they lost. The bag we lost was only groceries, so I just let it go and assumed that someone or other in bell services got a nice snack.

I hope the tree has found its way to its next family. We very much enjoyed it...it was in our window on the second floor facing the lake/trees.

Thanks so much to everyone for bringing this together, providing the tree, etc....

When the BCV tree was "lost" in Bell Services, we went with the CM into the room to find it. It was behind several Golf Club bags and boxes that contained Golf Bags. They had a seperate room, within the storage area, just for the golf clubs. Maybe telling the CM's this info can help some of you find the trees? Hope it helps! I know we really enjoyed the tree once we found it!

This is my experience with VWL tree #1. I first checked with bell services and the CM at the desk looked at me like I had 3 heads and told me to check at Guest Services. I checked with Guest Services the next day, but the box had not arrived yet. It finally arrived on December 2 and Guest Services left a message for me. I taped the list of recipients to the outside of the box and returned it to Guest Services on December 5. The CM at the desk checked her computer and noted that the next recipient was arriving that day. I am very happy that Mittymot(?) received it without incident. It is a great tree, very fittiing to VWL. I am sorry that the tree passing has not gone smoothly for everyone and I sincerely hope that WDWStar can locate it upon her arrival. I want to publicly thank her for doing this for DVC Dis members. I do have a picture of the tree, but, unfortunately, I don't know how to post pictures. I can email it to anyone who would like to see it. Happy holidays to everyone.

I would like to respond about the passing of the VWL Christmas tree and our negative experience with bell services at VWL. First of all, I would like to thank WDWstar for all your hard work. I hope you locate your tree and can't wait to find out the outcome.

We were able to participate in passing of the VWL tree #4. When we arrived at VWL on Dec. 5 at 1:00 pm, my husband went to bell services to pick up a box we left with them 10 days earlier and tree #4. He was immediately told he had to go speak to the supervisor of bell services. He had to go wait at a locked door and knocked on it several times before someone came to the door. When we dropped off our package 10 days earlier, we were given a card with the rack number and shelf number that our box would be on. When my husband spoke to the female manager of bell services, he was told that they did not keep packages for 10 days, that it would be mailed home. He gave the manager the card we had and she told him that the box was no longer there. At no time did she make an attempt to look for the box. My husband mentioned to her we also had a christmas tree that was supposed to be here to which her response was, "We don't have that either". The manager then asked what day the box was dropped off to bell services. My husband took the card back from the manager and showed her the date written on it. As she began to look through paperwork, my husband turned around and looked at the rack number he was standing in front of. Low and behold, my husband and the manager are standing in front of rack #1 and he looked on the top shelf to where our box was located. At this point, after 15 minutes of looking for a box that we knew the location, he gave up on trying to find the tree.

When bell services delivered our luggage, I mentioned to him about the tree#4 and he had this look on his face that told me I wasn't going to be getting the tree from him, so I went to guest services and they had the box waiting for me. The front desk CM's were more than happy to collect and hand out the trees. When I dropped off the tree on Dec. 7th, the CM at guest services seemed excited that we were passing the tree. She even looked on the computer and mentioned to me that the next family had already checked in.

Sorry this is so long, but I just wanted to mention that we were not the only family that experienced problems with bell services at VWL. I got a postcard from Disney wanting us to fill out a survey about the service at VWL. I filled it out yesterday but didn't read this thread until today. I did mention the problems we had with the bell services manager. It sounds like the same CM that Paula H had a problem with.

I can't wait to find out about the missing tree at VWL. I hope everyone finds their tree with no problems. If you are staying at VWL, you might be better off leaving it with guest services, and NOT bell services.

Happy Holidays!
