I know the atmosphere and entertainment is worth going for but how is the food quality /taste overall? Any favorites? Or Photos to share?

WE LOVE IT!!!!! The flavor of the meats is mouth-watering! We've never had a bad cut of meat off of the skewers! They are wood-fire grilled and I've never had anything grilled that has tasted so good. The only meat we don't like is the sausage. It always seems to be over cooked and dry. The dipping sauces are very good on the won ton chips and even better on the different cuts of meat. DH loves the thai peanut sauce and I like the green pesto type sauce on the beef. We also love the maui scalloped potatos. I can't believe how simple the ingredients are!!! I make a huge batch and freeze them into portions to enjoy so we have a little bit of Ohana throughout the year. The honey corriander sticky wings are also fabulous...hard not to fill up pn when you know the skewers are coming. The peel and eat shrimp is pretty good, just messy. The only other side dish we really don't care for is the stir fry veggies...taste like the frozen ones I get at home and not worth eating compared to everything else. The dessert...the bread pudding and sauce and ice cream....DROOL!!!!!! OMG!!!! It is sooooo fabulous! It is made from their breakfast sweet rolls and really is amazing. You will walk out of here so stuffed but it is worth every bite!!! Go hungry! This place was a hidden gem that took us too long to discover!!!

Thanks for the wonderful review! We are going here on our arrival night. We will be staying at GF, so very close by. DH, me, Grandma & DS4 and DD2. Would you mind sharing the yummy maui scalloped potatos recipe??? I know if I have this there and love it, I'll kick myself for not asking you sooner!
Thanks.

And others - keep comments coming, love to hear more!! It only took me over the last 3 weeks of calling to finally get our dinner Ohana Ressie, so excited!

My DH and I ate there in Feb - the food and service was fabulous! Normally, my husband is a little particular about his food, but I never saw him eat so much! He ate an entire plate of the sticky wings and had seconds on all the meats. I really enjoyed the peel and eat shrimp and OMG, the sides are amazing! The scalloped potatoes, the salad - fantastic! I totally agree that you should come hungry because you can have seconds on pretty much everything. They also have tons of entertainment going on while you eat - lots of the kids were learning how to hula and racing around. However, we were there on our honeymoon and we were pulled to the center of the restaurant to be serenaded. So, it's a great place for everybody - as long as you are not looking for a quiet dinner. We both have decided that we want to go back here on our next visit. :woohoo:

We just ate there Friday nught (8/3). We enjoyed the meal, though not as much as on previous visits (with the old menu). The beef was tough and chewy this time, but maybe it was just a bad cut. All of our group agreed that the best meat was the turkey. The potatoes were very good as were the wings. We preferred the old menu dessert (pineapples with caramel dipping sauce). The current bread pudding dessert is just too heavy after a meat-laden meal.

This is our fave place. We never miss eating here on our trips. Always have had great service and the food has always been yummy. And the dessert is our fave in all WDW. We always save this to be our last dinner for our trip and always wish we would have eaten there another time during. The view is amazing especially for the fireworks. The meats have always been good, but we prefer the beef and pork over the others. Just our preference. The salad is yummy, as are the potatos, mmmmmm. We enjoy the wontons with the peanut sauce and the shrimp. Even if messy. We never do get around to eating the veggies though. But overall, we love this place and think the food is great.

We just went there for the first time at the end of January. It was fabulous! Loved the atmosphere and especially enjoyed the turkey and the dessert. My dh is not a big eater usually, tall, skinny etc. He ate 4 helpings of the dessert AFTER completely gorging himself with the meal. We will definitely be back as it was everyone's favorite.

I absolutely LOVE 'Ohana. Had dinner there the first night of my honeymoon in '98 and was blown away. Awesome atmosphere. Great food but...you better love grilled meat! Also, don't come here if you're looking for a quiet romantic evening.:rotfl2:

We just ate there last Wed (Aug.1) & LOVED it!!
DH said it was one of the best dinners he's ever had on property.

We felt very wasteful though...this meal is served family style & they bring you WAYYYY too much! (We were on the DP).

**One of the above posters mentioned that they had bread pudding for dessert just 2 days after our dinner there...well, we had something different.
They gave us a HUGE bowl of vanilla ice cream & our server drizzled some kind of sauce all over it - it was fantastic!!! We couldn't finish it though.
We had way too much.

My mother and I went last year, we thought it was great except for the pork sausage.

This is an annual stop for us. We love the Poly to begin with. All of the food has a fantastic flavor. Service is always very good too!:thumbsup2

We love Ohana. It is a must do for us every trip! We enjoy everything, but especially the Banana Fosters Bread Pudding for dessert! Its one the best desserts I've ever had and I don't even really like bananas! :rotfl:
