:sunny: First time to St.John and not too sure about doing it on our own?? Has anyone done the 5 star beach and snorkel trip to St.John? :confused3
I just don't want to have to worry about getting back to the ship on time. We have not done any excursions on our previous cruises and so this time I thought we might splurge and try one??

This one sounds like fun? :sunny: It would cost our family of 3 $120,but I figure by the the time we pay all the taxi and ferry and beach costs we would still spend atleast $50 that day.

What do you guys think?? Is the trip worth it? :sunny:

Thanks for the info!

I don't have first hand expierence but I have heard that it's a really good excursion. While we were in St. thomas we did Captain Nauticas snorkling excursion because it went to two different snorkling spots in St John. We thought that was so wonderful we are doing it again next time. :sunny:

DH and I did this excursion in July. It was fabulous...you can snorkel one of several ways...either you can jump from the boat into the water, which is about 16 feet deep where the boat anchors, or you can climb down the ladder into the water, or they take boats of people to the shore. After you're done, you can either swim back to the boat and climb up the ladder, or you can take the boat back from the beach.
The ride over was very enjoyable, and the "guides" were entertaining and informative.
The only drawback I can think of is that you had to pay for your own snacks, and you don't have to on other excursions. But, knowing that, I would still take the excursion again, I would just take my own food with me. I HIGHLY recommend this excursion.

We did this excursion back in May 2000 and loved it. Be sure to bring $$ to purchase snacks (or bring something from the ship) and pictures. Crew was informative and a lot of fun. 1.5 hours at Trunk Bay was plenty of time for swimming, snorkeling, etc. I recommend this excursion!! HTH

Since the 5-star adventure is 4 to 4.5 hours, according the shore excursion list, and snorkeling is an hour to an hour and a half, is the rest of the time spent riding the boat to and from? What is that like?

:sunny: I am pretty sure this is what I will book for our trip in October. DD will be 7 then and we can go over to the beach when we get there. :cutie:

I just want to be able to relax and not worry about getting back to the ship on time.

I will make note to bring snacks with us that day. Thanks so much for the information.

It is a long ride in the boat to Trunk Bay and a long ride back to the Disney Magic. I would have preferred staying at Trunk Bay longer. It seems like a lot of travel time for the little time spent at St. Johns.

I would not do this excursion again. I loved Trunk Bay, but too much travel time for me. :moped:

We did this excursion in Apr. 03. There were 7 of us. We all jumped off the end of the boat (the tour operator took digital pics of everyone doing this-- and will email them to you for a fee) The snorkeling was very nice and I took lots of underwater pics. My only regret was that by the time we snorkeled around, there was no time to go and enjoy the beach. The previous writer was correct-- it takes a long time to get to Trunk Bay and back. I'd like to spend more time at Trunk Bay, someday.
