how is status updated for GAD?

Did Project Linus through the national organization - sent blankets off last week. As of yesterday my "action required" was to volunteer for a day. Today it now reads pending verification "The date of the volunteer opportunity has passed. Verification that the volunteer has completed their activity may take up to 2 weeks."

I am assuming that means Project Linus received the blankets and updated my status, but it is weird that it says "the date of the opportunity has passed" since I had until 3/8 to send in the blankets. For those of you that have gotten the voucher already, how did your status/action required change throughout the process?
 
I did the blankets through a local Project Linus Chapter so I don't really know what happens with the National one.

But the chapter coordinator told me that I had to make my participation date in the Disney site as the date that I plan on dropping them off to her, because after that date she then has 72 hours to confirm that I participated.

I dropped my blankets off to her on Friday, Jan 15th. She said that she will be able to verify it on Saturday, Jan 16th (she said that the Disney site lets her verify it the day after the participation date). I received my vouchers from Disney on Tuesday, Jan 18th.

Good luck with yours. Is there anyone at the National office that you can contact and verify wth that they received your blankets, and that they did confirm with Disney of your participation the activity?
 
I didn't have a set date - it just said they had to be mailed by 60 days after I registered. The PL coordinator did say they had to verify it in 3 days. I am hoping that by saying the date has passed, that means PL indicated they received the blankets. We'll see - we're leaving next week!
 
We made ours and delivered them to a local chapter last Saturday, the 16th. I received our vouhers via Email on Wed, the 20th. Mine also had a status of "pending verication" for a couple of days and then it vanished the day before we received the Email. So, I would give it a couple of days.;)
 

got my email this morning - was initially worried because it listed my day of service as 3/8/10 - the date the blankets had to be in, but when I log into Give a day it wasn't a problem. They may get backed up as the year goes on, but a really quick turn around to get the voucher.

Thinking about using one of them for the FP option, but we are probably going at a slow enough time.

That's interesting because my day of service was in March as well since I wasn't sure when we would be able to get the blankets finished so I wanted to leave plenty of time. Well we got them done and mailed out and the PL coordinator said she couldn't verify our service until after the March date. It had to be after service day was completed. So I went in and changed my date to next week so she would have time to receive the blankets and verify the date. Hopefully it will all work out.
 
How were you able to change your participation date? I sent me blankets and they arrived yesterday. The due date is 1/28 and the coordinator said I could change the date....but I can't figure out how.
 
I'm not sure how I did it either. I went into my account and there was the date listed and I think I clicked on the date and put in a different date. I didn't pay that much attention to how I was doing it at the time and right now I have chemo-brain and I have a hard time remembering details that I don't try hard to remember at the time. Sorry - I really wish I could help you more. Maybe since your date is so close you can't change it? My date was a couple of months away.
 
This is from memory, so bear with me...

When you sign onto the Disney site, go to "manage account." From there, you will see your status. You then need to click on the "Hands on Network" link on the right of the page. It will bring up some links, including "View Details/Edit."
I believe it is on that page that you will be allowed to change the dates.

I changed it when my date was about two weeks out without a problem.

If that's not the page, PM me and I will walk you through it. My project is completed, so I no longer can see the details to make changes.

Thanks. That's exactly what I tried to do but when I click on the date, nothing happens. I think we'll still get our vouchers in time.
 
I have mailed in my blankets too and it says "mail before Monday March 15th". I can't change the date either. So will I have to wait two months for my vouchers??? My status has not been updated either and they got the blankets on Thursday. I was hoping maybe it hadn't been updated due tot he weekend but I hope I don'e have to wait till March.

you case sounds like mine - I would guess they get verified by Monday and you get the email by Thursday with a March date but it will be fine and you will be able to print the voucher when you log onto Give a Day.
 
FYI--you can not change the date to a date that has already passed. The site won't let you do that.
 
We had two groups send our stuff off at the same time. They got their vouchers this morning and my status says "volunteered and verified" but no e-mail and not able to print vouchers. There is a phone # listed for questions...maybe ours are coming soon????:confused3:confused3:confused3
