I know they renovated this TS and we were going to try it in October. Any opinions on if it is good? Has the menu changed? Thanks, Linda

We have had lunch there twice and loved it both times...the dinner menu doesnt appeal to us as much as the lunch one does.

I'll agree with that. We liked the looks of the lunch menu better than the dinner one. We loved the food there. My 14 year old son thought it was a little "too authentic" for his taste though. My 10 year old daughter enjoyed it as much as the adults did! I will definitely return for lunch. ;)

Avoid dinner, we went and the service was as good as other resturants. The dinner menu wasnt as nice as I had hoped.

We are looking forward to eating there.
I have been searching and asking for latest menu and have not found
any info. I'm interested to hear what others say.
:goodvibes

I could live off of the Tacos de Cochinita Pibil. The Mole Poblano is an excellent entree.

The mole is one of my favorite dishes in WDW -- they do a very good mole. I have no problem eating dinner here, I love the food and ambiance. And the nearby cave is also a wonderful recent addition.

The San Angel Inn WAS NOT renovated. It was the Hacina San Angel (the counter service place) that was refurbed and will be both CS and TS now.

Just wanted to clarify as there will be 2 restaurants now.

Anyone who has gone here recently, please weigh in on the food - how is it lately? We have a lunch ADR for Feb. 2012 here, but I just read in Mousejunkies (1st edition) that they thought the food was nasty. Will have to check the 2nd edition for an update when I get home.

Have they changed chefs or management since 2009? I'm from California and so of course we have a lot of good, authentic mexican food (although I admit I like Chevy's too) *hides face in shame* ;) At least the ambiance will be great, but I hope the food doesn't stink since it's not the cheapest lunch option available.

The San Angel Inn did not undergo extensive refurbishment, but it was recently given a bit of a makeover with new decor and some updates to the menu. You can read a little bit about that on this Disney Parks Blog post.

We were just there in June and I found the service to be excellent and food was outstanding. Since we have left, I have craved their cheese empanadas. I would recommend going there, the atmosphere is undeniable. Heck, I cannot wait to go back.

We ate at San Angel Inn in May, 2011 and while the food was very good (not amazing but very good) we gave it a two thumbs up for the ambiance. :thumbsup2

Totally worth it.

Thanks for the outstanding review and pictures:thumbsup2We have an ADR for lunch (first time) over the Holidays and are really looking forward to finally eating here. We're trading Napoli for St. Angel this trip.

DS and I just ate lunch there a couple of weeks ago. We loved everything we had. What's funny is that while we were waiting for our table, he was looking at the menu and was less than enthused. I asked him if he wanted to leave and got a "eh...we're already here. I'll grab a snack later if I'm hungry." It ended up being one of the best meals of our trip, and earned a coveted spot on his "must repeat" list.
