How is MK on Saturday?

Normally we try to avoid MK on Saturday's. We are also trying to avoid parks on a day that it has EMH.

Unfortunately it works out where we would probably have to do a Saturday at MK to avoid EMH days.

How bad is it? We were able to avoid Saturday's last year at MK.

Thanks in advance.

The Magic Kingdom is nuts on Saturday! :hyper: If you must go, go early. If you plan to go on any rides without an enormous wait, it is a must! Truly, the only time I go to MK on Saturday is when I don't plan on doing anything but soaking up atmosphere.

I suggest getting there as close to opening in order to beat the large crowds. If you get there near 9 am, I would do Fantasyland first (if that is on your radar) & work from there...grabbing FastPasses for something like BTMRR & doing some other rides before your time came up.

About noon to early afternoon, the crowds will begin to grow.

We hit the MK before our flight out on a Saturday, leaving around 3 pm or so & I was very surprised at all we did in that time. Granted, it was a slower time of year, but I am guessing that would hold true other times too.

Definitely use FP & some pre-planning to get the most out of your day. And if you are looking to do any tableservice meals, have an ADR made as soon as you are able.

The Unofficial Guide loves Saturday at MK saying that since it's usually a travel day, the crowds at MK are not all that bad. Maybe I should rethink my schedule!

Still, I always agree with the first couple hours in the park being the least crowded! (except the EMH days)

We went to the MK one Saturday in October 2004 and, I agree with the other posters, it was nuts. The most crowded I've seen a park, and we've been in mid-June. I can't remember if we were there at opening or not; I just remember wandering around miserably because the waits for ALL the rides were so long.

Sorry! Maybe you can get a lot done in the first couple of hours, then just hang out or go back to the hotel for a swim.

MermaidMom is correct on what the Unofficial Guide lists as Best Days for the Parks

During our visits, Saturdays have been travel days or they have been on the 1st Saturday in June. We avoid the MK on the 1st Saturday in June because the crowd is expected to be huge due to Gay Days. So, we don't have much experience with Saturdays at the MK. A few years ago, Saturday was one of the Early Entry days for the MK.

The unofficial guide says that Tuesdays are normally the best days for the MK, but during our last visit, it was awful on a Tuesday. WDW did have E-ride night scheduled on that particular Tuesday.
