My DH mentioned he would like to go in May next year (no specific date yet) Anything we should keep in mind?? Thanks for the help.

Hello,

May is a terrific time to go, Last year we went the week after
(end of May) Memorial day for 6 nights and this year we went May 1-8 and both times were excellent. Weather was perfect, and crowds were moderate and at some parks non existent. The International Flower and Garden Festival is in full swing and absolutely breathtaking. So I love May and I'm sure you will too! Peylog

P.S. Also it's regular season, so a little cheaper on the pocket book and the past two times in May I've gone, I received room- only discounts. YEAH

We've been to WDW twice in May and each time the weather was great (not a drop of rain either time) but last year it was very hot and the crowds weren't bad at all. Our first May visit was the week before Memorial day which started to get a bit crowded right before we left due to the holiday weekend and the second May visit was the first 10 days in May and crowds weren't an issue. Enjoy your vacation!

We were there May 21-25. No rain at all. The temps. did get up to 90. It was a wonderful time to go.

We were there Mother's Day week in 2002 and it was HOT - 95. We were at the BC so spent a lot of time in SAB. Crowds were OK. We went in 2003 from 4/28 - 5/3 and it rained with thunderstorms several days. It was also crowded in 2003. Guess we caught the end of the Spring Break crowds.

We just re-turned from a May-23-30th vacation.. Not one drop of rain but it was hot..around mid 90's all that week which we loved. The crouds were average to low until we were 2 days of leaving due to the holiday. But we Love May it's the best time to go in our book along with the fall time.

We've gone the first or second week of May the past 5 years. This year we went the first week, weather was low to mid 80's, nice but we did have rain one day. The past 4 years it was low 90's, hot, but very little rain. Crowds were heavier this year than prior years but not bad.

May is Magnificent!!!!!!!

It is our very favorite month to go!! (the only reason we are going this November is because it is my daughter's 5th b day and we went to WDW for the other kids 5th bdays that were conveniently in May!)

We usually try for Mother's day week...where else would I rather be on my special day? Flower and Garden show is beautiful and NO CROWDS! Temperature is 85 ish and every other year we experienced a 1/2 day of on and off rain--no problem........remember Memorial Day though--we were there once during that weekend and I will NEVER do that again! Go in one of the first 3 weeks of May and you will NOT be disappointed!:sunny:

As far as weather and crowds May is great But BEWARE of BUGS Be sure and take lots og Bug Repellant. You don't want any of those horse flies bitting you.:sunny:

I was there May 7-10, 2003 and it was hot, hot, hot. Even the people on the local news stations were complaining. And Paul Revere who was playing at the Flower Power concert series in Epcot said this about the weather that week:

It’s not real heat, it’s just Disney testing a new attraction called “Hell”.

But I know people who always go to WDW in May and love it.
