We like Mama Melrose's. We usually do the flat bread pizzas and they have been very good. We had lunch there the first week of Dec. and without asking they brought us bread with the olive oil, no charge. We didn't have an adr and we were seated in about 15 minutes.
Food is ok, nothing spectacular. Our main problem with it is the service.
Always slow, though not crowded either time we went. After our orders were taken it was difficult to find our waitress for refills or other requests. Food runners brought out the food, so we were almost finished before the waitress stopped by to ask how everything was. And the last visit we waited 20 minutes for just the check.
We thought the first bad experience was a fluke, but after the second time with the same results DBF now refuses to go there again.
Only been there once, last year. I had the chicken parmesan (at least, that's what they claimed it was.) It was awful. Chicken was bad, but putting gross spagehetti sauce and a piece of cheese on chicken, doesn't make it good parmesan.
We went in November and we all loved it. We had couple appetizers (Soup, calamari, tomato & mozzerella), dinner (chicken parm, spicy shrimp dinner (can' t remember exact description) steak), and we all had dessert,.
We had dinner there in August of 2008 and thought it was fair. I agree with the assessment that it is kind of comparable to Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill. The flatbread was good according to DD. I had the chicken parm and I've certainly had better. We would eat there again but wouldn't go out of our way to do so.
