We usaully go in May,
Because of missing to much school, and the chance to stay longer,
We are going in July.
We would appreciate everyone's help.
How is the heat , lines, typical daily strategies to cope with the busier time period.

thanks
Jack

It will be considerably hotter and more humid in July than in May. You are pretty much guaranteed at least a quick thunderstorm every afternoon. With school closed, crowds will be heavier.

Get going early and take a midday break is probably the best strategy.

And I was also leery of that time of year. But I posted some queries, here and elsewhere, and the advice boils down to this:

Go early. Take advantage of early morning when possible. The crowds will be lighter, and the weather (relatively) cooler. Temps will be in the 80s instead of the 90s.

Leave early. You should plan to be leaving the park of choice by noon. Earlier, if possible. The heat will become intense -- and so will the lines and crowds.

Plan to spend the afternoon poolside. Splash around, or go someplace with lots of a.c. Expect a 20-30 minute torrential thunderstorm every afternoon, too. The good news: often, the waterparks will clear out during a rain storm, so you might try dropping by Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon after a good soaking.

Rest up and then head back to the parks in the evening. It'll be cooler (relatively) and there's just more STUFF going on -- later hours, added fireworks and parades and the like.

If you've been to Disney a time or two before, and don't HAVE to squeeze in EVERYTHING, so much the better. You can pick and choose what you want to see, prioritize, and actually enjoy yourself. Some have told me they've found the heat at Disney World no better or worse than the heat back home -- and anyway, where would you RATHER be? Sweating in your own backyard, or Mickey's?? ;)

I'm looking forward to my trip. How about you?

It's very busy, but with the wonder of Fastpass, it's much more manageable than ever before. It's also very hot and humid, and it rains everyday. Sometimes all day. Bring your raingear. My suggestion is to get to the parks at opening time and get in as much as possible before the weather starts to turn bad. Then, if the rain has held off, head to a waterpark. They are so wonderful in July - you really appreciate them. When the storms come, you can head back to your hotel to change or rest, then grab some dinner and go back to the parks. They stay open late in July.

I love the summer in WDW - even with the weather extremes. There's something very exciting about that time of year. :D

Since July 4 is on a Friday this year, you can expect extreme crowds on July 5 and 6, since it will be a holiday weekend. Once you hit the 7th, you'll have a little more breathing room.
