Hi
Just thinking about doing this, I have a will be 4 yo DS and I am undecided about this, I would like to try something different, I would be paying OOP and is this something that is definately a must-do and worth the money, thanks

We liked it a lot in November. My dd4 and dd 6 got a kick out of it. To me I did it once so don't need to do it again at least not for a while. I know some people return every visit. It is fun, the food is good and your ds will enjoy it as well as you.

I was wondering something about HDD as well. With free beer and wine included, do people get drunk and obnoxious?

Not at all when I was there. Very family friendly. I did have a few glasses of sangria, it is vacation... The servers are very busy so it's not like everyone is gettting a ton to drink.

We went to WDW 10 times before trying the Hoop Dee Doo Review. We went last June and loved it! The songs are silly, the entertainers overact, the music is lively and the jokes are corny but we really, really enjoyed it.

During the show, the entertainers will leave the stage and make their way around the theater. They will stop and talk with the guests.

Towards the end of the show, the servers will give everybody a washboard and a spoon and ask you to play along. You'll also be asked to swing your fabric napkin around in the air. They really get every involved in the show.

The food is served family style and everything was good. The meal consists of bbq ribs, fried chicken (the best in WDW), baked beans, corn on the cob, salad, rolls and strawberry shortcake.

I don't know that I would go back year after year, over and over again. You know how you miss something in a movie and you want to go back and see it again? Well, that's how we are with the Hoop Dee Doo. We will be going back this June for both the food and the entertainment.

I think it's well worth your money and I think the entire group with enjoy the Hoop Dee Doo.

Have a great time and eat lots of good food! Lisa

HDDR is a must do every year for my clan. My girls are 8, 12, and 17. We started going when the oldest was 5 and the 2 younger ones have gone every year since they were infants. They have loved it every time and insist on it every trip. It is a foot stompin', hand clappin', and gut-busitin' event. DH loves the all you can drink beer and the show is so much fun with the kids playing washboards with spoons and singing along. You will love it!!

We went a couple of years ago w/ another couple and their 3-year-old DD, and we all had a blast! As everyone else has said, the food was great, the entertainment was great, the service was great...I give it :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 !!! We will be taking our DD (who will be 3) when we go in December, and I think she'll have a blast, too!

We went two yeras ago when the kids were 1 and 2 years of age. We are going back this May for my dad's 60th birthday. We thought it was a lot of fun and although the kids were small they clapped and danced in their seats. Lots of smiles on both faces. The food was very good. My husband loves the unlimited beer. Noone got too drunk. Not that we saw any way. Very family friendly. It is expensive but give it a try!

Do it! We love the HDDR! We had a few obnoxious people on the bus ride back once (the 9:30pm showing) but never during the show. HTH. :)

HDDR is awesome. My DH and I went there two summers ago and had the best time. I think it was one of DH's highlights of the trip. The food was surprisingly good too.

We went for the first time last Sept. and dd was 4. She had a blast. It was so much fun. We asked her where she wanted to eat this year when we go back and the first thing she said was the hoop de doo!

We just went over Easter and had a great time. It was our first time but others in our party make it a regular stop everytime they are at WDW.
Food is great , jokes are corny--well worth it. Great Family entertainment!!

Last summer our table was the second from the stage; DH did not like that since he hates being in the spotlight. One of the ladies ended up singing to him and he was a good sport about it but thought the show was too hokey. And this from a man who loves listening to "Prairie Home Companion"!

I thought the food was pretty tasty and there is so much of it as well. I did enjoyed the show but would not go again...it was almost like watching the old "HeeHaw" show on TV.

DS-9 thought it was really funny and totally enjoyed it.

He would've died if he'd been my DH then! LOL! When we went two years ago w/ our friends, they'd been before, and we had NO idea of what went on. The servers had just brought out the strawberry shortcakes, and the brunette in the show came and grabbed him and took him backstage! Next thing I know, I see my DH on stage in an Indian costume! LOL! I'll have to dig out my pictures and post one!

did anyone use ddp for the show?? if you do use DDP can you sit anywhere.?? inoticed it said something about tier seating??

My dh actually suggested this and the more i read about it I'm so excited. i think dd(6) and ds(4) will love it.

tia!!

We used the DDP last year and are going to use it again in June. On the DDP, you will be seated in category 2 or 3. There are NO bad seats as far as I can tell and from the reviews I have read.

Last year, we were seated at the VERY last table in the entire theater. I immediately thought "oh no I've just wasted two table service meal credits!". Boy was I wrong! Our table was a high table and the chairs were too. We could see everything in the theater. The entertainers make their way around the entire theater. They stopped by our table a couple of times. And....when it was time to leave, we were able to exit the building way before everyone else.

Have a great trip, Lisa
