does anyone know? I know a few of the hurricanes have gone through the Carolina's and I was wondering if HHI had been affected by any of them. Thanks

I was at HHI during Ivan's path through the Carolinas. HHI had wonderful weather. The ocean was warm, the sun was not hot, and there was a good breeze.

I have been at HHI during summer thunderstorms, that are worse. Some of the building on the marsh side of longview island would have almost a foot of water around them. I would have to slosh through the water and get a cart to carry the family on.

Last I saw, Jenne was on a more western carolina path, that followed the last two. It has really hurt Asheville, NC. The Biltimore Village was flooded. they are closed for the rest of the year. Lots of homes fell in mudslides.

We're actually at HH right now, I'm in the room waiting for everyone to get ready to go out for the day. It's actually quite nice right now, sunny even, and quite a few people are enjoying the pool. They are calling for severe weather today, but so far nothing. We had a couple of storms pass through last night, but nothing severe. The place looks great and we're looking forward to nice weather the rest of the week once Jeanne passes through today.

We were at HH during Charley. Although there was a voluntary evacuation of the island, the storm went right by and hit Charleston. We woke up to sunny weather.

The location of the Lowcountry is much further west than the NC beaches. Wilmington/Wrightsville and the Outer Banks fare much worse during storms that go up the east coast.
