How is everything already booked for 1st week of October

we did ours and we have changed a few ...and actually got a BOG for lunch a few weeks ago and then I cancelled it...(same day)...it was one pm..our granddaughter and her husband are going in 40 plus days and she was able to get a lunch at bog also...just keep looking...We also got rid of Rose and Crown and got Biergarten instead...KEEP TRYING

We are going mid October & im currently trying to narrow down our list-
And choosing days,times etc....
So, you guys are saying I shouldn't worry if I don't manage to book everything at my 180 date?

What about afternoon tea at grand floridian-I would say that's the most important adr?!

I would suggest trying to snag your most important ADR around the time that you really want it. Someone else mentioned looking for specific times when making the ADRs instead of picking "Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner" and I too, found that to return closer times to what I wanted. I would say that there is a chance for you to get what you want but not a guarantee. People change things up between the 180 day and the 60 day FP+ mark, so within those few months, you have a chance of getting what you want if you don't get it on your 180 day mark. Stalk the cancelled ADR thread (although I don't think the 2015 October one has been started yet) and keep checking the app. Best of luck and enjoy your vacation!

Thanks you for your help thats very informative... I was hoping for the free dining and I've noticed in the past that it depends on which resort you stay in... we are leaning towards the Art of Animation or the Polynesian, would either of those hotels have different dining plans?

Art of Animation is a value resort, which gets the Quick Service dining plan free when offered (all quick service, no table service. Can be upgraded to the regular plan for the price difference perperson) The suites have been included in the free dining promotion in the past, but the standard Little Mermaid rooms have been excluded. grand Floridian is a deluxe resort & usually offers the regular dining plan free (1 quick service, 1 table service, 1 snack per person per day).

I was able to get everything but BOG. I am going to keep trying. I find it very hard to believe that it is truly booked. That is a huge place!

We have gone in September for the last ten years but last year was really crowded. I was hoping a change of date would help. I hope I don't regret it. I didn't even think about fall break.

Oh, good grief- I didn't see that your post was from Saturday! You booked before me! Sorry about that. I'm glad you got everything that you want. Hopefully you will get BOG. It is huge, but it does really book up. Last year we got shoved in the overflow room- the room with the music box that is only sometimes used at dinner (and as we discovered where they shove all the storage carts and other things along the wall in the evening). DD was so disappointed not to be in the ballroom or at least the west wing. We have had dinner there twice. 2 years ago it was fantastic. Last year it was a disaster- one thing after another- to the point where they wound up not charging for my meal. We are trying it one more time, in hopes that was just a fluke visit!

We have been that first week in October the last couple of years. We used to go the week after Thanksgiving. For us, the first week in October is busier than the week after Thanksgiving, but still really manageable. We enjoy it that time of the year.

Traveling also in October thinking we'd avoid crowds -- even pulling DD from school! No luck with BOG, but will keep trying. Definitely a shock to the system with all the pre-planning. I grew up in SoCal and used to going to DLR on whim.

I have to admit this is putting me off a bit... I generally like to wing things and when we go to DLR we generally are able to walk right into the restaurants we want to eat it with a few exceptions

You won't be able to walk into restaurants with the same assuredness of being able to eat there as you can at DLR. If you want to eat at a signature dining place..CRT, BOG especially, I would book at 180 days.
