How is Disaster different from Earthquake?

We haven't been since it was Earthquake. Is there anything different with this attraction, or did they just slap on some paint and give it a new name?

The preshows are completely different and uses a hologram type actor that the host walks around and interacts with. There are also audience members that participate and not in the same way as the old preshow. The subway is mostly the same but with the addition of tv screens for viewing the audience reaction.

I personally think that they have ruined what was a classic ride with the updates

The actual ride part is exactly the same other than the addition of the playback at the very end. The pre-shows have been spruced up.
