How is Crystal Palace for lunch?

Just my boyfriend and I were planning on having a late lunch here our last day. We are staying The Grand Floridian and spending the day in Magic Kingdom. We figured this would be the best place for our last meal in Disney but are having reservations about it now. Our flight is at 8:00 PM that night, so a lot of restaurants we would like to go for dinner won't be open early enough for us to go to. Anybody have any insight? Should we keep this ADR or find something new?

We ate lunch at CP last year and really enjoyed it. There were good salads and some deli-style sandwich fixings that made for a lighter choice. The desserts were also good. The atmosphere is light and sunny. We would go back again in a heartbeat.

We lunch at CP last Septermber, it was our favorite TS meal of the trip. Lots of salad offerings. Yummy mashed potatotes. The flank steak and pork roast at the carving station was SO good! Character interaction was very good and the wait staff was very attentive and made sure we knew how the characters rotated through the room.

My DH is still talking about the cheese tray from our lunch there 2 1/2 years ago! He really like lunch there and is making us go there again in May.

My family LOVES it!!! Me, my husband and our 2 boys visit here every year! The food is just about the same as dinner only cheaper. We are not crazy for Pooh and friends but will be eating lunch there in 2 weeks:love:

my family eats lunch at CP every time we go to wdw :) the citrus marinated flank steak is awesome! they have lots of food choices for my DD12 as well (picky eater) and i love that they have lots of fresh fruit choices, along with yummy desserts. we're big pooh fans, so seeing pooh, piglet, eeyore and tigger is a bonus!

It's yummy! We ate lunch there last week. Our ADR was for 2 p.m. It was wonderful. I really liked the different salads. Plus, the variety and choices for the hot buffet items was great. It was nice to try small portions of a variety of dishes. All hot and replenished often. Very relaxing meal. We were fortunate to get a window table.

We only ate one large meal that day - stretching our lunch to 3 p.m. While we were paying our bill, they put the dinner items out. DH quickly got a plate full of steamed clams and oysters. DS enjoyed 3 bowls of ice cream :-) *sigh* only at Disney.

Keep it keep it!!! Love CP, great food :) Love their desserts! We eat here every single trip and wouldn't change that. Winnie the Pooh characters are great (I'm a fan of Eeyore!!) I think it is a good choice and hope you enjoy it!

We LOVE Crystal Palace for lunch. The characters are great but so is the food. There's a wonderful variety of unique cold deli salads -- all very good. The salmon is delicious! There's also carved meats. The quality is very high for a buffet.

We will go twice for lunch next trip.. I've been there total 4 times, 3 for lunch, 1 for dinner.

CP usually is the first restaurant for us every visit. I have pictures of my girls there, absolutely belly laughing as they interacted with the CM. The food turns over fast, which means it is constantly being changed out so it is fresh. My girls love POOH, as does Grandma. We try to hit this one twice, GRANDMA loves character dining believe it or not. It really makes her day:cloud9:

Love CP! We eat there at least twice on a trip so we can do two (or three) different kinds of meals.

Lunch is great. What I like best about the place is that the food is always fresh and the hot things are hot and the cold things are cold. Great dessert selection too. I vote you should keep it.

CP is great for lunch! Have done lunch and dinner here a gazillion times, and lunch is a far better value, as dinner has climbed to almost $10.00/adult more due to the addition of seafood.

Just ate dinner there 2 weeks ago, and it's our last dinner. We will only eat lunch from now on - good selection and great atmosphere. Service is spotty, and characters are very slow now though - dinner did take 1.5 hours before we saw all characters. We used to be able to do a meal by 1 hour, but no longer. Still worth it as it's the only meal to see all Pooh characters (you can see Pooh and Tigger at 1900 PF breakfast).

Good luck and happy eating, Tiger :)

Besides the $$$ - can u tell me what's different from the lunch/dinner menu? I know lunch has the addition of deli meats/cheeses. Thanks.

As I mentioned above, there is the addition of seafood. None of us can eat seafood, so I can't remember exact dishes, but there were seafood salads, peel and eat shrimp and some other stuff.

Much of the same food for lunch as for dinner, but there may be one more carved meat for dinner too?

Desserts are pretty similar as well, as are the kids' foods (which are yucky anyway as they are typical mac n cheese, stringy pizza and nuggets).

Menus do change frequently though and are seasonal, so we've noticed different salads and fruits, depending upon the seasons. As well as different rice dishes too.

HTH, Tiger :)

I'm not a seafood person but their adobe (??) salmon is so so so good! We've done lunch and dinner here and I think I prefer lunch. I will be trying breakfast next trip.

It was awesome last September! :thumbsup2

The carved flank steak was easily the best beef we ate during 9 days of DDP.

Just wanted to remind people who are going during meal upcharge/surcharge peak seasons (June - Aug this summer), the dinner will be $32.99 + $4.00/adult upcharge, plus tax and tip and $15.99 + 2.00/child upcharge.

That is a pretty high price to pay for dinner, so make sure that it's definitely worth it, as lunch is almost the same thing for a cheaper price.

Happy eating, Tiger :)

We loved our lunch at CP a couple of years ago. Good selection of very good food with excellent character interaction for the two of us. We prefer eating our big meal of the day at lunchtime, so it worked out really great for us!
