You'd probably get a better response on the "Disneyland (California)" boards. Click here.

We went to California Adventure last summer. The Magic Kingdom at Disneyland was a disappointment after Disney World. We really enjoyed our vacation in S. Calf. We went to San Diego, Legoland and then Disney. We enjoyed Calf. Adv....a day or two is enough there. If I went again, I would stay in the Grand Californian hotel. There is an entrance that goes right into the park.

We've been there twice. It is fun, but as a new park, the rides were limited so we didn't spend a full day there (we had no waits). The Soaring over California ride is my favorite ride. It is different and we enjoyed it.

We visited California Adventure in April ( you can see a picture of us at the Disneyland resort with DIS's own Webmaster Michelle on my website at www.castawayclub.com ).
We had heard a lot of bad things about it, but I personally enjoyed it a lot. It is definitely NOT the Magic Kingdom...more like Epcot, although not exactly like that either. There are a lot of educational exhibits, such as how tortillas, bread (both with free samples) and wine are made. I was sad to hear that the restaurant associated with the winery has closed...we had lunch there, and it was delicious.
We liked the Paradise Pier section of the part...it reminds me of an old-time amusement park. Also, Soaring Over California is a must-do experience. The only things we didn't really like were Superstar Limo (vary lame dark ride) and the Fairy Godmother show...ugh!!!! We did not like the animation exhibit as much as the one in FL, but it wasn't bad if you have nothing to compare it to. Overall, I'm ready glad we went there. We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel, and it was nice to be right on the property. Also, if you like Japanese food, be sure to check out the restaurant in the Paradise Pier Hotel. We ended up eating there both nights (at my insistence...no good Japanese food around where we live, so I have to take it when I can get it).

Lots of people don't like it, but I actually enjoy it. Go into it not expecting it to be like another park though, or you will be disappointed. If you do go, DON'T miss Soarin' Over California, the best attraction I have been on (IMO) at any park.

its AWESOME!

omg! it is a really great park...we spent a whole day there and still didnt have enough time to do everything we wanted!

its a different kind of park...there are great shows(BLAST is the best thing ever!) and great rides( Soarin' and California Screamin') and then not so great stuff(Superstar Limo! my bros favorite ride  no joke!)

I would say make a weekend out of it and go to DL too!

One thing I don't believe was mentioned is that Calf. Adventure is more a park for adults and older children. There is not a lot for preschoolers to do there. We also loved Soarin' and the water raft ride (I forget the name). The lines were long when we went at the end of June. My children would like to go back to S. California again....it was a great vacation! I'm looking forward to our next vacation.....hoping it will be more relaxing.....the Disney Cruise!

My family (me, DH , DSD(9) and DSS (8)) LOVED DCA! It was great. I have heard that they are now having problems with Califorinia Screamin', which is not unusual when a new coaster is breaking in. Grizzley River Rapids is awesome and does something no other raft ride does! Saorin over California is beyond words. They got rid of the show with the fairy godmother, and actually BLAST is doing an engagement there (like they have at EPCOT). Ground has broken for Tower of Terror. Who Wants to Be A Millionaire - Play It has been added. There is some much to do and explore here if you take the time. I compare it to Animal Kingdom, at first glance it may not seem like a lot but throw yourself in it and check out all the nooks and crannies. It really is a great park and it will only get even better!

We liked it very much (just DW and me). We had a great time. It was Sept. 10. The next day was different. We had to postpone going to DL until Sept. 12, and then we couldn't get out of L.A. until Sept. Sept. 15, but all in all, we had a great trip, and I would also recommend the GF. Here is a neat little trick: save the Grizzly Bear Rapids until the end of the day - go back to the GF and put on a bathing suit, and then do the rapids - several times if no lines - then head straight for the whirlpool spa at the GF pool!

I would also recommend a general tour of L.A. (we used L.A. Tours) and a visit to the Getty Museum - one of the finest museums in the world on a truly breath-taking and serene site, looking over the L.A. basin.

I thought that CA was quite a nice park despite some of the things I had heard about it. We spent a full day there with a 3 yr old and he had a very good time even though he wasn't tall enough for a lot of the rides. He liked the Sun Wheel, King Triton's Carousel, It's Tough to Be a Bug, The Muppets 3-D etc. He spent a great deal of time on the S.S. Rustworthy boat (kind of lame for adults but he had a blast). The best part was the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. I wasn't going to bother going there because on the map it showed a height restriction but a CM said to go since the restriction only applied to a couple of activities. Honestly, my son had a blast in here! It's basically a play area for kids but there are a ton of rope bridges etc. and he had a great time on these (we were probably there for 1-1/2 hours!). He also liked Superstar Limo (it was pretty dumb). We stayed for the Electrical Parade (he loved it) and Luminaria (OK, but not what I would call spectacular). All in all, it was a full day for us and quite enjoyable even though we couldn't go a lot of the rides. I guess it would depend on one's child as to whether they'd really love it or not. Mine did. I forgot to mention that he got to meet Sulley and Mike from Monsters, Inc. so he was pretty excited about that too.
