How is the food at Bongo's Cuban Cafe` in Downtown Disney?

We just return for WDW.

I'm a fan of Cuban food, so we tried Bongo's on Tuesday, 23-Mar-04.

Food was all premade and not reheated very well. Quality was only fair. My chicken dish was to have had a light spicy cream sauce, it looked more like cooking juices.

Service was ok.

Pass on Bongo's

We loved Bongo's and had their specialty steak. They had a live Salsa band with dance lessons that night, too. It was alot of fun and we felt the food was just delicious.

If you're gonna try a new restaurant, I'd always recommend trying an item that the waiter suggests...

We love Bongo's..we have eaten inside many times, and outside at the walk up window. The food has always been excellent.

Very relaxing place..don't plan on rushing.

We have eaten there on a few visits to WDW. We really like it there! The food is not superb...but it IS tastey! We especially like the atmosphere and enjoy listen to the salsa bands play!

I'm Puerto Rican and raised on Spanish food so I know a little something about spanish food and Bongo's started out very good and has gone to mediocre in my book! I love the cuban sandwiches at the outside counter but when they were served with Mariquitas (thinly sliced fried green bananas) but they now serve them with french fries and the meat didn't taste the same. I had my birthday dinner last year there and their white rice and black beans was very good but the steak was so-so.

We ate here a few years ago and really enjoyed our dinners. We are planning on eating here again on our next trip since it's been a while since we ate here last.

Call me biased because my parents are Cuban, but Bongo's is a tourist version of the real thing. The food is reheated and bland, so as to not "scare" people away from a real ethnic experience.

Bongo's has decent food, but very expensive for what you get. The steaks are great! It would be a nice outing just for the adults. The kids did not like the food at the restaurant.
