Sorry if this has been asked before but we'll be staying at AKL for the first time later this year and I was wondering about Boma. Personally I love buffets - I feel there's much more selection which is especially good as it gives the kids (DD9 and DS8) more choices to choose from. Does Boma have mainly African inspired food or is it half that and half American? We're not the best when it comes to trying new things. We stayed at CSR on our last trip and the food was one of my main worries, since I don't like Mexican anything, but that was quickly put to rest the moment we got to the food court so I was curious about this place as I've heard good reports about it.
Thanks for the help!
Debbie
It's a fairly large buffet, a lot of African themed dishes, but they did have ribs, chicken and prime rib, all seasoned differently than any I'd had before, but very good. Tons of vegetables, some really unique ones, and I do seem to remember that they did have quite a few kid friendly dishes, such as mac&cheese. The desserts were good.
The wait staff and chefs were great (my prime rib was WAY pink and the chef did his very best to get me a more medium cooked slice!) All in all I'd say it's certainly worth a try, if you want something different.
We ate early, and were glad we did as the line for the buffet gets very long, quickly. Also, if you're a DVC Member, make sure you take your membership card, we received an unexpected but quite pleasant discount! As I am sure you already know, make the ADR's as early as you can, seems that EVERYTHING fills up, and unless you want to eat very late, you could be out of luck, which could be difficult with little people.
Hope you like it!
