How is August?

How is the weather in August? We usually go in June but are not able to this year. Our choices would either be the second week of July or mid August(free dining!). But, I'm concerned that the weather will be that much hotter. Does July and August vary much? What about the rain/hurricanes. We are used to the little afternoon showers in June. Please!!! I need help!! Thanks, Tink

I've been there the last week in August and it was hot and humid. Lots of rainstorms. The crowds were bearable.

Mid-August would probably be better just because it's still the busy season and the parks are open later.

We finally made up our minds and booked Aug. 13th-20th. Free Dining-Yay! What does everyone else think of August? tink

August is pretty muggy, and the afternoon rain is pretty standard, but then again, that's par for the course for Summer in Orlando. I don't think it would be as bad as July, though and the crowds are less. Plus the free dining means as much yummy food as you can stand! It's doable, though- just bring a poncho and spend as much time on Splash Mountain as possible!

Gosh, after all that encouragement, I'm kind of bummed that I won't be there in August!

Just think a hot and humid day in Disney is better than a nice day at home, or any other place for that matter
