How in the world do you keep your iPhone charged?

Another Anker fan. I have a 10400mah that charges an iPhone or Samsung Galaxy 4 times, kept our cell phones charged at WDW with no problems. Great to have it here in the Northeast, we recently lost power for 36 hours, was a god send for our cell phones.
Is it heavy to carry around?

I use a Ravpower one too and it will charge my iPhone 8 Plus almost twice. Mine is getting low by lunch at the parks, but I use the Disney app and take a lot of 4K video and photos with it so the screen is on a lot.

I must not use my phone to the extent of other guests because by the time I break in the middle of the day I have plenty of juice left. I charge it during break and I'm good for the night. I take pictures and video and "surf the web" and never run it down that far that I need to charge it in the park. Is this a sign that I'm just getting old and not fully utilizing my iPhone :guilty:

What is the best way to keep your phone charged? Any recommendations for portable chargers?

Turn off blue tooth if you don't need it. Turn off fetching of emails. Turn off any location services (GPS) if you don't need them. Turn down screen brightness if possible.

But my biggest thing......put the darn phone in a bag and leave it there unless you actually have too. I see so many people with their face buried in a cell phone on a $6,000 vacation and it just amazes me.

Use our phones a lot. We use to take pictures and we are FP+ constant refreshers.

- Carry a battery pack. I get about 3-4 full charges out of mine.

- Buy a FUEL Rod in the parks (DS has one). Each day we swap it out for a new one. At first I balked but it's great knowing you can always get a fully charged one. He said he can also switch it at other spots including airports too but worth it just for Disney.

- Always have a cord and plug in bag to plug in at places around Disney whether the stations in Tomorrowland or a wall plug while I'm have dinner somewhere.

- Put my battery on "Low Power Mode" and that saves lots.

Can the fuelrod be plugged in and charged at nite?

I haven’t read all the comments so not sure if this was mentioned, but there are charging ports located in seating areas in the parks. Off the top of my head, I can remember the seating area by Pete’s silly circus had them, the tree stumps in the seating area by the tangled restrooms, outside la cantina in Mexico. There are also outlets in the baby care areas.

We carry portable chargers and always put our devices into battery save/low power mode!! It’s alot easier to do this with the latest Apple OS’s but it’s been around now for ages buried in their menus!

We also often find our cell service to be better than WiFi - so it’s good to be monitoring that as an option.

The biggest thing that helps me is turning my battery on low power mode when we leave the resort. It stops app updates, email fetching, etc. that drain the battery in the background. I can do any of those things manually if I need to. I also have Bluetooth turned off, and I close all background apps. That makes a big difference.

We also have a lipstick charger (no idea the brand - bought it from a friend) that will do 3 full charges. It's small and easy to carry. We've used it for all kinds of trips and it works well.

Got the fuel rod at the Houston airport this morn. Going to try it out this week at conference

My Android phone actually didn't use up nearly as much power as I thought it would so I didn't even need to bring a power pack. I just made sure it was plugged in before I went to bed each night and it maybe used 40% of my battery on a day I was on MDE a lot.

Moral of the story, bring an Android ;)

I keep my phone on airplane mode while in the parks, only taking it off to check for FP times or ADR times. I also purchased a ~$20-25 Anker external battery and ~$5 3" lightning charger cable online that is the size of a pack of gum and has 2-3 complete iPhone charges in it. It is super lightweight and very easy to use.
