She's a tough crowd, but it keeps me pushing all the time for a laugh.
Say for example when we had a mild disagreement that I used humor to resolve.

Wife: I'm not a maid
Me: (Looking around the bedroom) Honey, I don't think anyone would mistake you for a maid.

It took a whole dozen roses and new pair of earrings for her to get that one
