How important is it to get FP+ in Sept/Oct?

So my difficulty is this: Disney released the military discount and I was able to apply it to my room only reservation. :cool1: BUT the tickets won't be available until the end of August. :headache: I need 4 day tickets and want to get the water park and more if it is not too much. (Hoping to go to Disney Quest).

Military WP&M : $177
Tickets thru runDisney: $222.59 (4 day base only)
Tickets thru runDisney: $244.95 (4 day with WP&M)

There are 4 of us and it ends up being a couple hundred dollar difference. This is our first trip so I'm not sure if it is crazy to wait or if I should just spend the money and buy the more expensive tickets. :confused3

Unless you're wanting Anna and Elsa or maybe Mine Train, you should be fine.

We went Oct/Nov of last year, and the wait times were really low. There are always a few rides that seem to have endless wait times, no matter what time of the year, but if you make those rides a priority, and get there first thing in the morning, you should be just fine. :)

I don't care about Anna/Elsa and I do want to ride Mine Train, but I am thinking if we get there right away or maybe do it on our MNSSHP night, we would be able to fit it in at least. I'd rather not part with an extra $200+ if I don't have to! :goodvibes

I think you might be able to get mine train FP in August. It's Anna & Elsa that will be the most difficult. Even if you have to ride standby, lines should be lower than they have been this summer. Hopefully they'll run 7DMT during the party, which migh also be agood time to go. I wouldn't spend the extra $200+ either.

I've gone in September several times. You don't need a FP for most things. But some of the rides like Splash and Soarin will still have long waits in the middle of the day. Overall you don't need too many FPs.

My trip is in 11 days. I just got my tickets today and started doing FP choices.
The only things not available are E&A Meet, and Mine Train.
You should be fine for getting FP if you wait for the tickets.
