How I spent my summer (updated w/new pics)

Groucho,
As always your shots are amazing. I love the Corning shots. I grew up n eastern N.Y. but we had close friends in Buffalo. Every summer we went out there and passed through Corning. Although I don't think the museum was there at the time I remember how excited my mom would get about stopping and picking up some new casserole dishes:confused3. Anyway I wish we had spent some time at the museum it looks pretty cool. Of course most things you take pictures of look pretty cool, great shots of the Glenn as well. Thanks for sharing, keep em comin I'm sure people are still looking:thumbsup2

You know, I was born and raised for 18 years in the Buffalo/Niagara Falls area, have lived out of state for about 10 years now but have come back for numerous visits, and not once have I ever gone to the Corning museum :lmao: And it's only, what, 3 hours away? But your pictures are making me think I need to change that very soon.... :thumbsup2

I finished another "summer event" group of shots... here's a few pictures from the Corning Museum of Glass, appropriately enough in Corning, New York.

I really like this, i love that kind of green and the stems are really funky.

Intrigued to know what is a close up of.

groucho, not a car fan but that fisheye of the blue car is really good, you have a real fisheye knack
and i like the one from corning with the black and white upper right man holding the bowl in the corner shot thru something else( gold words or something, the one before the glass ship) ? very nice creative shot:thumbsup2

Thanks for the kind comments, folks! I just wanted to make sure that someone was reading since since I was putting it together. :)

If you live near Corning and haven't been out there yet, it's definitely worth a visit. There's a nice collections of small shops and restaurants right across the bridge from it, too.

That is in the lobby of the museum. It's basically a tall version of what you see. Here's another shot looking up at the top of it.

I don't have a shot of it all by itself, sorry... and I don't see one of their site (but it may be hidden in there somewhere.)

Thanks! The reflection is a sculpture in front of a photo, and I just happened to notice it as I was shooting the black plaque. (It says "Exposition Universelle, Paris 1889, Grand Prix, T. G. Hawkes, Corning N.Y." for what it's worth.) I figured that was a way to make the reflections work for me instead of against me. :thumbsup2

If anyone wants, there are more Corning photos here, more Big Bad Voodoo Daddy shots here, and more Watkins Glen Historic Races shots here. Some day I may even get around to adding descriptions to the photos. :lmao:
