Wow. I never, ever read trip reports, but somehow I ended up here and I couldn't stop reading. Several tears were shed. When are you going to have the next report up? I can't wait.
Reading your report, I'm thankful as well that my father was interested in Disney (more the making of the park and the retail end of it all) because we weren't well off. He drove us from Boston to WDW several times in our young life and I remember every mile of Rte 95 before the current highway was built. That was a long, long car ride. I remember our first trips to MK and Epcot in detail. Both my parents are now deceased, but somehow the Disney magic rubbed off on me.
After we'd been married 10 years or so my DH had a conference near WDW. He'd been to WDW with his parents....but they weren't all that impressed and he wasn't too excited about that part of the trip. I did all the planning using Bob as my guide and DH and I with our young DD's had a wonderful trip (they were then 4 and 2). They don't remember it, but we do. We couldn't wait to get back there. I remember being very thankful that I had married someone who appreciated Disney as much I do. We had such wonderful later trips that we ultimately bought into DVC because we just can't get enough WDW.
Funny that some take to the pixie dust and others don't. I told my sis today that we would be at WDW for Thanksgiving and she laughed that "not again" kind of laugh. My DH hasn't even told his family yet. My friends won't understand either. My kids however, 17, 15 and 7 will be over the moon when I finally tell them about the upcoming trip. Thank goodness they have inherited the WDW gene......
Please, please more trip reports........
I have to stop reading and writing now and put my 7 yr old to bed. It's an hour past her bedtime. I am such a horrible, horrible mother.
