The last time we went to DL was Nov. 06 and we had a fabulous time! We're planning on going to WDW in November and Europe (and hopefully DL Paris) the next year. So, it'll be a few years between DL trips.

A good friend of mine really wants to go to DL in the fall. She would love to go with me because she knows I know a lot about how to have a good time there (pretty much all of which I learned here!). However, her DH can be a little...of a drag. He especially likes to complain about prices, along with whatever else seems like a decent thing to complain about.

Well, I told her to give him a choice. Either he can go and choose to have a good time w/o complaining, or he could send me in his place. When we told him our idea, he asked "would you be driving or flying?" I told him "whatever you want to pay for".

A few days ago my friend told me he had made his decision. He would go and have a good time. I was telling another one of our friends about it and we decided that our friend should have something with my picture on it so that if he starts to complain, she could just hold it up as a quiet reminder. So she gave me a couple of tongue depressors for me to stick my pic on. And if he complains about food prices, she can remind him that it's cheaper to pay the prices than to send himself home and send me out there!

So, I may not get to go to DL this fall with my GF, but at least she'll have a good time! :goodvibes

:rotfl2: I love that she is taking your picture on a tongue depressor! What a funny idea!!

that is funny! :rotfl2:

I just can't imagine going to DL and not having a good time. I've heard there are people out there who have something wrong with them and don't actually like going...I've never actually seen or met that type of person, so maybe it's not true? :confused3 :lmao:

I know it's hard to believe, but it is true. I think they must avoid us avid fans, though. Which is a good idea because I'm not sure we could be held responsible for our actions if they started dissing the DisFans! :rotfl:

I know someone who really doesn't enjoy it. He took his nieces there once and after a couple of hours he LEFT! He couldn't handle the crowds and the lines. His wife and kid go now w/o him. I just can't imagine!

I'm convinced that going to Disney "blindly" is asking for some challenges. Crowds make for interesting challenges, but if you know what you're doing(and that is not dependent upon how many times you've been there) you can deal with them just fine.

I have to give an update to this.

As they were coming off of Peter Pan, they were stopped by the Dream Team. They won the Grand Marshall-stay in the Disney Suite prize! They left the park to get their things, then were put into a limo at some point to get back. They were treat to dinner at Blue Bayou. Grand Marshall for the parade and got to keep the car door sign. Were given a big beautiful crystal bowl with their names etched on it and a big chocolate sculpture of some sort. Then they were given robes to wear around the park in their pajamas after the park was empty, then treated to the character breakfast in the morning. Since they "lost" part of their day, they were given an extra day in the parks and then another ticket to come back another day.

We were so happy and excited for them!

Then one friend looks at me and says "That could have been you! :rotfl2:

Oh My Goodness!!! So close yet so far...

Hope they had a blast!!! ;)

Wow, I hope that her husband learned his lesson about never complaining at Disneyland since he came so close to missing out on one of the best prizes of all. He better have felt the magic this time. :thumbsup2
