How hot is it?

Okay, as you can see, we are 12 days out and counting down-yea! We live in MA, where we have had a rather disappointing summer temperature wise. It has been a little on the cool side. Are we going to die when we get down there? In the past, we have been pretty acclimated by our temps at home but not this year. Anyone just get back from New England that can fill me in?

I am also from MA and I hate the heat. We have been to WDW the past two summers (late Aug '03 and late June '04) and I can honestly say that it wasn't that bad. Maybe I just prepared myself to be miserable but it did not affect my vacation at all. It was about 94 with a dew point of about 72 virtually everyday. In 2003 it rained a lot for extended periods. In June we hardly got any rain. Both trips were for 2 weeks.

Just be smart. We would be out first thing in the morning when the parks opened. The crowds are very light at this time. We would hit a bunch of rides and then head back to the hotel for lunch and a nap or pool time. Then we would head back to the parks around 4:00 so we were always missing the hottest part of the day. I can't stress enough how important it is to go early. On a Saturday at the MK this past June we were there at opening and left at 12:15. In that span we were able to do 11 attractions - all of Fantasyland and a few others. As we were heading back to cool down and rest, the crowds really were pouring in. So you get the benefit of lower crowds and temps.

There are a lot of indoor atractions where you can cool down as well. I thought I would hate it but after 2 years of summer trips, I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. In fact, our annual trips for the foreseeable future are going to be in July due to school, baseball/softball schedules, and football.

Have fun and remember - mind over matter

Thanks Mike!

We were down last August too and it wasn't bad-like I said, it had been hot here-lol. Past few weeks we have had to close windows and almost turn on the heat because it had gotten so cold at night! Unfortunately, we have 2 teens with us, who like to sleep LATE. We will have to get them up so we can get to the parks early. I was just wondering if FL has had cooler temps like us?

Hot and HUMID. At least it is down here in So Fla. That is between the rain.:D

We just got back on Sat. and it was extremely hot all last week. We are from the south, and it was hot to us! We took fans, Misty Mates, and lots of bottled water, and it was still really hot. We usually go in Sept. or Oct. so we were not used to the standing in line in the heat. We were there at the parks at opening every morning, but we were sweating then too!!! Just be smart and stay hydrated and duck into some air conditioned shops when you can. Have a great time!

We have a "cool front" this week...only around 88º to 90º. Expect rain daily, but it USUALLY doesn't last very long. That said, we broke the record for the "wettest" August already, only one week in.
