How Hot End of August?

Hi - I'm toying with the idea of going for a 3-day birthday fest but wonder how hot it might be Aug 30-Sep 1. Could anyone who's been there recently or in the past during that time give me an idea? It sounds like 90s and I've never been there when it's been that hot. Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated. Ely

It will still be very hot and humid. We have gone twice at the end of Sept and once the beginning of Oct and it was still hot then. +
Just be sure to take period breaks in the a/c places to cool and drink plenty of water.

VERY HOT that time of year, the humidity is very high in late August and early September, I used to live there for many years! It can be very enjoyable if you remember to dress in loose fitting, lightweight clothes and drink lots of H2O. Make sure to take A/C breaks especially with the very young and the elderly if they are not used to that kind of heat!

I went the last week of August in 2001 and it was in the mid 90's everyday. It was also fairly humid. The evenings were beautiful though!

I have to echo everyone else here. August is brutal (and so is most of September), and we've had a particularly hot and humid summer this year.

We have gone four times during the last week of August and are going for a fifth this August. We have had a variety of weather. We have had the 95 degrees high humidity days and also the 80 degrees low humidity days. With the exception of last year (2003) we have experienced very little (almost none) rain. Don't let the August weather stop. Actually, we get very much the same weather in August in NJ.

Last year we went for 10 days --we hate heat, and there was only one day we thought it was unbearable and left the parks. This summer though it seems to be hotter than usual.

The weather is definitely managable, if you plan accordingly. Go early in the morning....seek out air conditioning periodically.......in the middle of the day, enjoy a nice sit-down meal. It will do wonders to "recharge" your energy!

The hotter the better for me, I'm from Buffalo and when I'm shoveling ten feet of snow off of my driveway I like to think about the HOT days. But, I was wondering how the crowds were for the last week of August. This will be my first August trip and I'm expecting medium size crowds. Thanks
