How have you Disney-ified your home? (souveniers thread)

I have a room we refer to as the mickey room. We have over 100 different mickey only things. Mickey tape, pens pencils stapler, puppet, thimbles, shot glasses, baseballs, drawings, posters, newspaper articles , cars, phones and the list goes on and on. We also have mickey drawer pulls and cookie jars and 4 different lamps. But in my DD room we have place hidden mickeys in the paint. I just happened when we painter her room. It is bright barbie pink with polka dots all over. In a few places we merged the dots into hidden mickeys. Lots of fun and every once in while someone will come in and see it and ask if we did it on purpose. :rotfl:

That's one of my favorite lines, too.

Years ago, after spending many hours setting up an elaborate stage lighting arrangement with dozens of bulbs each flashing in sync with a music track, someone walked up to me and said, "Hey, that almost looks like somebody PLANNED it!"

:goodvibes

Well, I don't think anyone can compete with Robo. :lmao:

My Christmas tree is mostly Disney ornaments (and most of those either have Mickey or the Mickey icon).

My favorite thing in my kitchen is my canister set where each canister looks like it has a Disney character (Goofy, Mickey, Minnie and Donald) peaking out of it. I also have a cookie jar, various glasses, mugs (refillable and coffee), a spoon rest, magnets, place mats and a set of Christmas dishware.

In my living room I have a clock, a throw on my couch and a picture frame, and I have several prints that just need to be hung or framed and hung.

I have a Disney World license plate frame on my car, but I recently had my Sorcerer's Apprentice antenna topper stolen. :(

Thanks!

It's a photo frame.
I bought it at WDW a few years ago.
(Found it at the Settlement Trading Post at FtW, but I think they were in most
gift shops at the time.)

The frame was in the shape of the Main Street Cinema and had the "Steamboat Willie" marquee on it, and all the character surrounding the "screen," just like you see it.
It also had a built-in light to make the marquee and car headlight glow.

When I saw the frame it gave me an idea to "plus it" (as Walt used to say.)

So, when we came home,
I installed a 5x7 inch flat screen color video display in the area where you'd normally put just a regular photo.
(I took the video display out of an old hand-held video game.)

I connected it up to a DVD player (I hid the player under the bed) and now use a remote control to start up the video.

It actually plays the Steamboat Willie cartoon (in full motion with sound) from the DVD.

Here's another shot of the display in operation-

That is incredibly neat! I would have never been able to make something like that, but I would certainly buy one! haha. I love Steamboat Willie. Absolutely amazing idea :goodvibes

When I saw Robos first post I laughed and said I guess that is a resounding YES!

I love the creativity behind the steam boat Willie piece! Amazing!

My daughters rooms are Disney. One has tinker bell and the other princesses. I'm working on murals in both rooms.

If we gathered all of our Disney items we most certainly would have a huge dedicated room of Disney but they use most of it.

My kitchen is black counters with some red accents throughout the kitchen and I'm adding a few Mickey things here and there.

I really want near yard stuff. I saw that gnome yesterday on a blog and want one so bad! And I hate gnomes lol.

Did I miss a link to a picture if a disney topiary in someones yard? That would be amazing

As you walk up to my front door, I have the pink flamingo with Mickey ears in my flower bed and a Mickey gnome on the porch right beside the door. Above them on the edge of my roof I have a red, white, blue wind chime and a flag spinner thingy that I picked up in that gift shop next to the Hall of Presidents in MK. On my back porch I have two terra cotta mask thingys I picked up in the Mexican gift shop hanging on a wall, a Tinkerbell windchime hanging and a Tinkerbell flowerpot with a Tink plant stake sitting on a table on the porch, then a Tinkerbell bird bath and gazing ball that I picked up at the Flower Festival last year sitting in the flower bed at the edge of the back porch. On the back fence across from them I have a Mickey gnome rain gauge.

My living room fireplace mantel has a couple of large snow globes, several Jim Shore figurines, and an animal totem pole thingy I bought from the African shop at AK. Most of the floor is covered with one of those big rugs that hangs on the wall in Morocco. On an end table I have a couple of dragons I bought from China. On the shelves of the entertainment center I have several pictures of me and different family members at WDW, a blue painted terra cotta elephant I picked up at CSR, two of the fenshai lions from China and a fenshai cat from China. Over the fireplace is large picture of the castle with all the characters around it.

My computer room is done all in Disney. On the wall on the right as you walk in, hangs a large tapestry throw of the castle. On top of the dresser to the left is a snow globe, a Tinkerbell paperweight, a troll family and a set of three vikings that I got in Norway, a towel animal, and a totem pole I picked up at the WL gift shop one year, with a painting of the castle above the dresser. In the window sill sits a large Steamboat Willie bobblehead, a stuffed Steamboat Willie, a small Steamboat Willie snowglobe, and then another Mickey hangs on the window from a suction cup above them. To the left of that window I have a framed long sleeve yellow tee that says Disney on the center front and has a bunch of characters around it, that I had the characters autograph several years ago and then framed when I got home. Above and to the left of my computer is a styrofoam bulletin board thingy, full of Donald Duck and backstage tours pins with an antique cardboard Donald to the left and above it, pointing at it. Directly over the computer is a 'Our Disney Vacation' picture frame with photos in it, and to the right of that is a Tinkerbell calendar. There is a tall bookshelf to the right of the computer that is crammed with Disney stuff: the Disney characters dressed in all the different costumes from each of the countries that Epcot had a few years ago, a stuffed owl and a stuffed moose from Canada, a stuffed kangeroo and kaola from the Food and Wine Festival a few years ago, a Pal Mickey, one of the anniversay gold Mickey ears embroidered with my name, all seven of the dwarves, an Eyeore and a Figment figurine, a few ride pictures, a Tinkerbell box, and a CSR resort mug that holds pens and pencils. Several of the pens have Disney characters on top of them, and then there are a couple framed photos of Tink on there. Above the bookcase is another framed print of a bunch of Disney characters. The bottom two shelves of that bookcase are full of WDW albums and boxes of WDW pictures. If I ever finish it, I have the cross stitch picture of Mickey and Walt walking toward the castle. (I also did a another cross stitch picture of Mickey shaking a fireman's hand, but gave it to my eldest son, who's a fireman.)

When we took our 3 y/o GS down there Feb 4th-11th, I took a couple of white 11"x13" autograph mats that holds 5"x7" pictures, that I picked up at Michaels. We did alot of character meals and had all the characters sign the mat. I still don't have the pictures from that trip developed, but when I finally get around to it, I plan on putting a picture that we took of my husband, my 3 y/o grandson, and myself in front of the castle in them and then framing them and giving one to my GS for his room and then putting the other one somewhere in that computer room.

Here's my "Mickey Room." The artwork above the bed is actually the plates mounted on fabric canvases.

I just love this it's beautiful! Great decorating.

At Christmas we have a lot of Disney. Our Christmas tree is all Disney ornaments (hundreds lol), Disney tree skirt and Minnie topper, We have a cookie and milk dish, the castle for our scenery. We have a utensil set from Disney in our kitchen with mickey heads in them. A lot of mugs and glasses. Various Mickey plushy's. Wine Glasses. I have the christmas castle dream lights throw I use all the time. Towels we've "acquired" from resorts lol.

In my garden, I've got the Cheshire Cat figure and the "Fairest of them all" stake. Technically the Cheshire cat is my DD's but since she is only 12 I get to use it. LOL

Living room: Snow Globes, and currently have some vinylmation on the mantel, O'Hana picture of us on mantel, Framed shareholder certificate on mantel, and collage disney photo frame on mantel. My Castle Dreamlights throw that I use nearly every day.

Front Entry: atenna toppers in vase on table, small collage picture frame with pictures taken in Disney.

Dining room: Snow Globes

Master Bedroom: a few popcorn buckets used to organize stuff.

Kitchen: red/white disney kitchen towels, disney cups and refillable mugs in cupboard, a few disney magnets on fridge.

My craft office upstairs: Lots of Disney. Stuffed animals on top of bookcase. Pictures on 2 floating shelves. Lithographs on walls, vinylmation display on wall plus some on small bookcase that don't fit in the vinylmation display. I'm sure there are other things I'm missing but that is becoming my Disney room.

I forgot we have a Mickey Phone in the basement we use. My husband has been talking about retiring it from use and I told him we need to display it in the dining room on the piano if he doesn't use it anymore.

I'm thrilled that so many others have alot of Disney in their houses!

I have..

Disney ornaments

7 Disney snow globes..my last one was purchased when I went to see the Mary Poppins musical. I also have one from the Beauty and the Beast musical.

Various Disney figurines, dolls and stuffed animals

A Disney shadowbox with a Fantasia scene in it.

Lots of pins

Various Disney books.

Coffee mugs and refillable mugs.

Several Disney Dooney and Burke bags.

A charm bracelet with Chamilia Disney charms.

I have a Disney World license plate frame on my car, but I recently had my Sorcerer's Apprentice antenna topper stolen. :(

This happens a lot. I've bought several for other people only to have them tell me that they've been stolen.

I have measuring spoons which make me smile when I'm baking with kids! They try to use them to eat yogurt too.

I have 2 curios full of collectible glasses, plates, toys, figurines.

My Christmas tree is mostly Disney and think after our trip in Sept I will have enough to make it an all Disney tree.

My most prized treasures are these tiny bobbleheads of Mickey, Goofy, Pluto and Donald from the 1940's-my Mom found them in a box of stuff she bought at an estate sale. They were just thrown in the box in a sandwich baggie :guilty:, but now they are on display and loved as they should be :)

This thread has me googling like mad! I really want these garden items:)

I can't find the fairest of them all stake. Is it at the parks? Sounds cute :)

I have a plastic Mickey figurine who is older than I am (his ears are smaller than the current Mouse) and two framed drawings that I did in the Animation Academy at HS.

Mickey wine glasses.....Mickey cocktail glasses ..Mickey wine cork stopper thingy...Mickey pilsner glasses....Mickey bottle opener, oh and Mickey pizza wheel..... oh....dear....I think there's a trend here.

Most of our Disney-ification is in two categories right now - Christmas and kitchen.

We have a Disney ornament for each year we've been to the parks, one large red Mickey head ornament (from Target), and the four park icon ornaments. We have a Christmas train engine/snowglobe with Mickey and Minnie...the original idea was to get one piece of the train each year, but Disney discontinued it after that first year...boo. We also have Christmas-themed Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto nightlights from Costco.

Kitchen-wise, we have a Mickey salt grinder, a Mickey glove oven mitt, a Mickey-head ice cube tray, a Mickey-head wine stopper, Mickey wine glasses, and a Mickey-head cookie cutter.

We have a Disney Christmas tree which everyone gave me a hard time about.

"You don't think you went overboard?" someone asked.

"Nope, you have no idea how far it'd have to go to be overboard!" *giggles to self*

People don't get it. It's okay.

2 shelves in our family with snow globes, Mickey dolls and autographed picture frames. Plus Mickey blankets for our couches.

A mickey bathroom with shower curtain, garbage can, towels, pictures.

a Christmas tree with a monorail underneath it. Half Disney ornaments
The other tree has the Mickey train set. complete with Contemp, and Epcot.

Half of my kitchen is Mickey... tea pot, platters, bowls, serving bowls, cookie jar, hand towels, . We made a spoon rest in red and black with gold hidden Mickeys.

Ds's headboard is all stuffed animals from Disney
