How have the buses to/from SSR been recently?

I'm actually at SSR right now. We're going to MNSSHP tomorrow night (10/21), hoping to leave SSR for MK around 4 PM and then come back after the fireworks.

We took the bus this morning to Epcot, and it came fairly quickly. There was a bit more of a delay coming back though.

I have 3 young kids, so would like to avoid as much transportation delay as possible leading into what will be a very busy night tomorrow. I'm worried that, based on some reports on these boards, that I'll have trouble getting a bus going to MK or one coming back to SSR (from MK) after MNSSHP.

Has anyone had any problems with the SSR buses recently?

We just returned from SSR. There was one night we waited 30 minutes, but I think that was because of an older gentleman driving because a second bus pulled up shortly afterward (I think he drove his route more slowly). Other than that we didn't have any issues getting to or from the parks or DTD.

They weren't overly crowded either. Maybe a few people standing in the evenings.

I should mention that we didn't stay until evening at MK, however.

Got back just over a week ago.

We found the transportation from SSR was brilliant... we had 2 occasions on the return where we waited awhile... 45 mins wait at Magic Kingdom during the day (but we found out they closed a road off and the drivers werent aware so they went down the road that was closed and had to wait until they could move)

20-30 mins one night from Epcot... no real reason and very frustrating when youre the only stop with a queue and there are 4 buses saying they are going to POFQ but we got a bus eventually and much better than driving so i am really not complaining... it was our first time using the transport and i thought overall it was brilliant.

We also returned last week from an SSR trip over Colombus Day weekend. Except for one extra long wait for an Epcot bus around 1pm, which was 40 minutes. We actually saw an epcot bus pulling away as week crossed the street to the stop, I didn't think the waits were bad. We usually waited only a little bit, 10-15 minutes going. We did stand coming back on a few buses, but the wait was never too long, and these were usually closing times for the park.

was there in Sept.
Epcot and studio buses were fine.

MK and dd were strange.

MK there were 2 buses together - then a third about 40 minutes later.

they started off this way.

dd - 2 or 3 buses right after each other - then again one separate and later.

(that was what I was waiting for when realized that 2 MK buses came up at once)

time waiting for buses - best trip ever - my wait except for the DD buses was generally immediately 0 to 10 minutes. even the MK bus really expected to wait since I saw the strange schedule that morning - didn't. miss one but the other one came up in around a minutes or less. (that was luck - it could have easily been the other one and waited for 40 minutes)

those were the only strange things.

forgot a big one - if you are coming back after closing - the buses MUST stop at each and every stop - or the computer reports them. doesn't seem to matter to the computer that there are a bunch of people on the bus that don't want to stop at every stop. the bus driver still must....

so be prepared for that.

When I stayed at AKL I ended up at SSR and used the busses and ours came almost immediately, but others had been waiting (we had lucky timing). But one thing I noticed at AKL, when there are lots of wheelchairs/strollers, etc it seemed it could take awhile for the bus to get loaded. I think some of the bus issues at SSR is due to the number of stops and if there are lots of handicap/stoller loadings, etc it can take awhile for the bus to make it through the resort and to the last stop....which is why people see the busses stacked up at the last stop as some of the PP's have mentioned.

I know that CM's were out monitoring while I was there, but maybe the solution for Disney is to split the resort in half and that way each bus only makes two or three stops max.

We just returned from a trip 10/10-10/15. The buses during the Columbus Day weekend were timely and ran smoothly. On Tuesday it seemed to fall apart. We were coming back from Magic Kingdom around 11am and the bus took about 35 minutes. Tuedsay night at Epcot was dire. I think the wait was at least 45 minutes and it seemed Riverside had 4 buses before we had 1. On the 15th we were at HS and at the 30 minute mark my DD (15) asked someone walking around with a clipboard why buses were not arriving. He redirected a bus to come pick us up from the DD route. Very nice of Disney to do that. This was the first time we ever had issues with the bus system and I will put up with alot because I don't want to drive myself.
