I think it may help a lot of people understand better about a GAC if this topic is covered. We have struggled without one, but I'm starting to think it might be better to get one.

I've never asked for one, but I'm starting to think that we should do it. If we should have one, I would think the CM in guest services would know if it's going to help us or not. I understand you can't just say you have a specific disease, medical conditon, etc.

Anyway, I would like to know specifics about how it has helped everyone. Thank-you.

Long story short: No.

People abuse the system using information found of forums like this one. If you read the sticky up top you'd know that.

If you want one, go talk to guest relations. Tell them what you need and they'll tell you what they can do. What anyone else needs or is offered is not beneficial to anyone else to discuss.

Bete - I completely agree it is hard to know ahead of time what a GAC can do for you, and whether you should get one. However, on this board, we try to keep specific descriptions of what the GAC can do for individual needs from being too clearly described, other than stroller as wheelchair, because it allows people who are less honest to "shop." In fact, I have even heard of one guide telling people the "best" disorder to have in order to get the "best" GAC!

Also, a GAC is handled many different ways even if it is the same stamp. It depends on time of day, time of year, crowds, how many GACs were just let in, etc. We do not want people to count on something which may not be true for their trip.

I am going to lock this thread for a short time, while i talk with Sue to figure out how this is best approached. Thanks.
