How hard will it be to rent SSR points out?

I'm thinking of buying SSR before the price increase. How hard is it to rent out your points if you want to go somewhere else one year? Can you only rent out points for your home resort? If so, how hard will it be to rent out SSR? I mean are people actually willing to do this?

I need to know because my husband wants to do a trip to London within the next 2 years. If we apply the money we've been saving for our Nov trip to WDW and the money we've saved for London we can do next-to-no financing. However, hubby wants to make sure we can get some cash back for this one trip to London within that time period. We'll save cash for future trips outside DVC I just want to let him have his trip to London soon and still do DVC within the budget we have.

You can rent out any points you own. Judging by the activity on the rent/trade board, I don't think you will have a problem renting SSR points. Many people rent points under the 7 month window of reservations. In those cases, the home resort of the points will not matter.
