How hard will it be to get into home resort once SSR is sold out?

Its OKW specifically that I shy from due to habit (though I suspect once I stayed there we'd be fine). We've stayed at WL enough to feel comfortable with the resort, and I'd switch to the Villas there and be fine. And BCV is close enough to our BWV haunts that it doesn't scare me. OKW and SSR, with their spreadout layout, restaurants I don't know, bus transportation to everywhere (we avoid cars on vacation, but do take a lot of taxis) - why, we'd need to CHANGE! The reason we vacation at Disney is because its familiar and easy. When we want exciting and something different, we go somewhere we haven't been.

I suspect what passes off at pride here is really masking the laziness. Other resorts may be better than my BWVs, but I'm too lazy to find out, so I'll defend my choice.

And I've no doubt that there are plenty of members who do want the variety DVC offers. I also suspect that there is a nugget of truth to the "the more variety that was offered when you joined, the more interested you are in the variety" thought. i.e. SSR owners are probably more interested in the other resorts than OKW owners who didn't know if there were going to be any other resorts.

You are correct on the 11 month booking question...only the 25 points can be used to book at 11 months.

What CarolMN is saying is if Disney buys back a 300 point VWL contract and sells that as 6 -50 point add on's to people who's home resort is BCV, then you will now have 6 more VWL members wanting to book their 50 points rather than one 300 point person. Maybe these 6 people will stay 5 days at BCV and 2 nights in a studio at VWL just for a "change of pace". Now you have 6 studios for 2 night stays that are taken up which could prevent another member from being able to book a studio for 7 nights.

Yes, there has not been a change in the total points for VWL, but the points are now in more hands which may limit availability.
