Hi! I'm wondering how difficult it is to get to Chakanaab from the ships? We are travelling with four children--- 7, 4, 2 and 1. The 7 and 4 year old and 1 adult will be doing the Dolphin Discovery Program through the DCL excursion. How hard would it be to coordinate either of the following options:

1. Our whole family goes to Chakanaab on our own, with the Dolphin Encouterers meeting up with the excursion folks at Chakanaab

2. The Dolphin crew goes to Chakanaab with the excursion folks, and meet the other half of the family who travels there independently

or

3. The Dolphin crew goes to Ch. with the excursion, and the other half of the family signs up for Sea Lion Discovery program and takes advantage of that transportation.

Finally, prices for excursions are listed for over 3. With two under 3--- who both will love the sea lion show and all that Chakanaab has to offer in general--- do we pay the over three rate? Or are they free?

Thanks!

It is very easy to get there from the ship, but you will probably have to take two taxis as they are really small. It will cost about ten bucks one way in a taxi for all you can fit in.

as far as rates for the little ones, I can't help you with that...

We had 4 adults and 4 kids in a van. We went to Chankanaab also. Don't remember the cost though for the taxi van.

Also go to Chankanaabs website, I think you may be able to do the dolphin program on your own. Not sure though, but I thought I remembered reading it.

Cabs to Chankanaab are $10 each way. Admission to the park is $10 adults, childrn under 7 free.
After reading about excursion experiences on this board, there may not be prices under a certain age because small children may not be allowed on excursion.
If the 7,4, and adult are paid for an excursion, then they should probably ride with the group so they don't miss anything (and it is paid for). The others could ride in the cab and meet them. It usually takes extra time to load a busload rather than a cab, so you should be able to be there about the same time.
