you know- i really hate the reservation lines......but i did call because i wanted to get rates between the "reg" tower rooms and the " 14th floor .i pretty much got the run around.....but i had her checking 5 dates and there was NO 14th floor ressies? does it book that fast? is it really popular or? i might be out in left field, but i wonder if they sell out or?

so-----has anyone here had a problem getting into the C / 14th
floor at CR? and if you did- how did you end up wiht the room, by changing dates or ?

Tina,

Are you trying to book the 14th floor room for a party of five? If so, it will not come up on the CM's screen... b/c those rooms are only for 4 ... no daybed in there.

Hope that helps!

I have one, got it with no problem. Except no AAA discount available. I'm going mid-Sept. :teeth:

Good luck!!

There are only a handful of regular rooms on the 14th floor. So it is very possible that they are booked for your time period.

When I booked (and later cancelled) the 14th floor, it took probably 20-25 minutes to make the reservation.

Just keep trying back, maybe someone will cancel :)

Really? What other kinds of rooms are there? Are they suites? I think I just got a regular room. I didn't ask, just asked for a room on the 14th floor.

Mostly suites from what I have read on this board. Very pricey ones too :)!!!

You won't rub elbows with anybody. We went is Dec 2002 and we were in the lounge all times of the day and at best there would be only one table occupied. We would go there for breakfast at 8 and eat our breakfast there. Would see one other couple come in duringthe entire time. Supposedly, the floor was full. I think because of the suites, there really aren't that many people on the floor even when full.

It sure was a pleasent change from the other concierge lounges.

Ed,
That's perfectly "cool" too! It will be nice to have a quiet place to relax & not have to worry abt my 5yo bothering anyone!

Thumbs up Misty, the Cont. is actually my favorite. We started Tower Room, then 12th floor Tower Club, then 14th floor suite-concierge. Wow!! Just loved it. It's my understanding rooms only are availabe w/concierge. It is also my understanding that the rooms are slightly larger. The concierge was never crowded and the goodies were from the Calif. Grill. Yummy good stuff! The only thing we always missed out on was a Magic Kingdom view so you could see fireworks at night. Good luck, you will enjoy your stay there. And I almost forgot, Your room key fits only into the 14th floor slot in the elevator. When you punch that puppy in everyone notices, makes you feel even that much more special!!

Are the 12th floor tower club rooms guaranteed a MK view? I always thought 14th was. How odd. Maybe there's no way to guarantee a MK view....oh well....can't be a bad view in the place...I'm sure.

I bet the food is superb.

jmkst58,
no, sorry not all 12th floor or 14th floor are MK views. The Bay fiew is very nice but when you hear the fireworks it leaves you with that "missing something" feeling. You can always request MK view, but you know the old story, "it's not guaranteed."

If I remember correctly, you can book Bay View or MK View suites, just not the regular rooms. And, I know they used to do the regular rooms in Concierge-King and a Concierge-2Queen categories, so bed type was a room type (when trying to make a reservation for my last stay at the CR, all they had was a King room on the 14th, and we needed 2 queens, so ended up staying on the 12th floor club level instead).
