How hard to buy small contract?

does this mean if I buy a small contract at Vero beach it's possible to make reservations at any DVC 8 months in advance? Are the points of the same "value" if they are bought at Vero? This doesn't seem right though, why wouldn't everyone do it? It' seems so much cheaper to buy points at Vero?? :confused3

IF you own at Vero Beach, you can currently make reservations at 7 months in advance at any DVC resorts which is the same if you own at any of the DVC resorts. While I do not know all of the reasons why Vero Beach is much cheaper, I do know that the maintenance fees are the highest of all the DVC's, so while a person may pay less during the one time purchase price up front, they will probably pay more over the life of the contract in yearly maintenance fees. Also, Vero Beach is prone to hurricane hits.

oh, ok that makes sense. Another poster also mentioned that even at the 7 month window it is tough to get the reservation you want. We usually travel the first week of February so I don't know if that would make a difference or not??!
thanks!

I suppose it may be me that got your 70 points at VWL. It is in process now and we just got an email saying to expect closing paperwork in 15-25 days. Trust me, we'll be getting it sent back very quickly. Can't wait to make that call to make a ressie!!! We were just there in June and rented at OKW for our first stay at a DVC resort. That's what got us thinking about it.

Apologies if this is answered already. Anybody able to QUANTIFY (based on recent sales) the sales price PREMIUM that smaller contracts (under 100 points) command over larger ones?
Keep in mind that in addition to the selling price premium you have to pay for a small contract, there is a closing cost premium on small contracts of $4/point of so (depending upon how you measure.)
