How hard is VB or HH to get 7 months for Christmas?

I'd like to get my family away from home for Christmas as this will be the first Christmas without my mother. Is HH or VB as hard to get at 7 months as WDW resorts?

I am not sure about Christmas....but we were able to get HH at New Years at the 7mth window....we had a 2 bedroom.

Never know until you try...HH is wonderful

We have been to HHI resort over the holidays 4 times and it is wonderful! Many activities at the resort and all over the island. Twice it was warm enough for DS(12) to swim in pool(too cool for us around 62degrees outside but pool is super heated). Other times it was gloves and hat weather. Our home resort is OKW and have never had a problem getting time that included x-mas or New years. That said, we did have to reserve a 2bd twice because there are fewer 1 bd. I would not get a studio unless you were planning on eating out every meal. The resort is in a beautiful shopping and dining area and the beach house is about 1.5 miles away and you can take the van, drive or bike there. You will have a great holiday there, we missed it this year even though we were at WDW. We love HHI so much we purchased 50 add-on points there this Fall.

I'm going to book a 2br if I can....there will be six of us but most of us can't sleep together so we'll definately need a two br!LOL I'm not even sure I'll be able to convince my family to go, so I might have to cancel. With Mom still with us, I don't feel it's a good time to talk about it with my dad. He hasn't really admitted to himself that she won't be with us long. I can cancel before 31 days and the points go back in my account, right?

HH for Christmas at 7 months is a piece of cake - especially for a 2br. Vero would be a lot tougher. I have no personal experience with Vero at that time of year, but it's peak season, and more people escape to FL for the holidays than to HH.
