How hard is it to upgrade?

Staying at the CR 12/20-12/24, we have a wing room booked. I know by checking online there are still rooms available in the tower. Will they offer an upgrade at a discount or do you ask? ( is it even possible?) I saved extra money from my husband's 6 months in Iraq over the summer for this trip. It is a celebration of him coming home safely and I want it to be as much as it can be. Hence.... if I can swing a better location last minute, it's worth shot! Thanks!

I would ask nicely at check in, and be ready to pay at least a reduced amount for the upgrade. Of course they might offer it for free, but they might also offer it for rack rate. Be ready to be pleasantly surprised if it happens, or be happy with your wing room if it doesn't, and good luck!

thanks, I've been so busy getting ready. We are leaving tomorrow to drive to WDW. We are taking it slow to enjoy the whole trip, and will arrive Mon. a.m. I have no expectations of getting an upgrade for free, but just knowing there is a chance of getting one for a discount is a ray of hope. I am the only one who has been to DW in my family. I went as a child twice, so I am over the top excited, while the rest of the family-DH, and 3 kids aren't sure what to expect. I keep telling them they just have to wait and see how wonderful it is. The bad thing is we are only staying 4nights and then going on to visit relatives.

I will send in a report when I return home!!

We too, are going to the Cr. It would be nice to be upgraded to the tower, but what are the odds there will be rooms left this time of year??

Well, we really want to be in the North wing, well I'd love the tower but don't love the price! anyway we leave tonight! We'll stay somewhere on 10, get up and stay at holiday inn family suites for 1 night then we check in to the cr for 8 nights!!
