Considering a treehouse stay since I will have several kids coming along say maybe around Feb, 2022. Wondering what my chances are for a treehouse at the 7 month mark as I do not own at SSR.

In normal times, especially for much of February, I’d say that you shouldn’t have difficulty. With the large number of surplus points in the system, a lot of members are splurging on larger accommodations. The THVs are that perfect blend of more space and low point requirements. Where else can you get 3 bedrooms for around the price of two?

But there are going to be some February weekends (President’s Day, Princess Half Marathon) where availability anywhere is going to be less. Those might present some difficulty at 7 months. But overall, I would say you have a decent chance of scoring one. Not everyone likes the THVs (I’m raising my hand here) and so the competition to book one is not as great as an OKW GV.

Pre-covid, as noted above, THV's were fairly easy to get during the moderate demand season that ran from mid-Jan to late Sep except for a risk otherwise for certain times therein such as race weekends and holiday times. They could also disappear more frequently before 7-months out at various times during the high demand season from late Sep to marathon weekend in Jan.

With Covid, many things are different including that seeing the THV's filled for a time may simply mean you may have to wait until significantly less than 7-months out to get one because large numbers of cancellations of many rooms have been occurring.

Thank you for the replies! I am flexible on dates. All the kids are 18+ so at least college where they have some flexibility. So it sounds like I should be able to score one.

Just a heads up: Kids 18+ are not likely to sleep comfortably in the bunk beds, if you were planning to use them. They are extremely small. Of course, if they are short, young adults they will probably do fine.
