How hard is it to get OKW studios?

I just received my planning/info kit and I noticed that the OKW studios have a dedicated two queen bed set up. Are there a lot of these at the resort? How hard is it to get a reservation for these if it is not your home resort? Thanks.

OKW is large and you shouldn't have a problem getting ressies there!!
I haven't stayed there yet..but...Webmaster Doc has a wonderful thread about OKW Configurations.

ALL OKW studios have 2 queens. We have had good luck getting ressies at OKW, even fairly close to arrival date. It is such a large resort that mathematically there are just more chances.

I called member services the other day to check on availabilty of a studio at OKW in July (thinking of sneaking in one more trip before the PAPs expire!). I was told that there was LOTS of availability. I'm not planning on making a reservation for a few weeks, but really don't think I'll have a problem. My son and I had our 1st OKW stay last month and LOVED it!! I'm going back to WDW (and staying at OKW) in 53 days with my mom, my sister and my 7 year old niece (who can't wait to try out the new slide at the pool ~ which my 15 yo son tried and gave a big thumbs up!). I think everyone will really like OKW. I know that I'll be a repeat guest!

OKW use not be a problem - however some people have say that all the DVC resorts are filled for Thanksgiving date.

besides certain times of the year (like Thanksgiving) - just don't try to do it at last minute 60 days or less

any unused DVC villa at 60 days will go to CRO to be rented out just like all the WDW resorts.

if it is a popular time (like summer or spring break) these go pretty fast once the public has access.

I just made ressies this AM for the first week in December (still in the 11 month window - seven month is coming up next week). MS said both studios and one bedrooms were in somewhat limited supply, but there were plenty of two bedrooms still available.

The first week in December is BIG for DVC because of low points, DVC annual meetings, and all of the holiday festivities going on. Plus, it's a GREAT time to visit!

If you want to go in early December and stay in a studio, I'd make ressies as soon as you can.

I called last week for a studio during July 4th and told non avail at OKW.
Although I think they are PUSHING SSR each time I speak with MS. I thought it odd no studios at OKW. Anyway we switched to a 1 bed no problem.

I actually do not like the studios because of the two beds. points are less though. We prefer another resort for the pull out give more floor space.

Then again nothing but nothing beats the 1 bed. We are spoiled.

We have stayed at in studios @ okw and have never had a problem getting a reservation.

OKW is roomy and very nice. I like the two queen beds and space in the studio. Except for certain times of the year, it should be easy to request a studio. Have fun!
