How hard is it to book a non-home resort for 4/16/18-4/20/18? That weekend is the Star Wars races. My first strategy was to wait and book a BLT LV studio instead of booking a SV studio at Poly and then switching over. Think it would be a bad idea to wait for the 7 month mark? That week is also April vacation for a lot of schools in MA and RI.

Agree with the above, especially as it looks like your home is Poly? If you wait for 7, there could be issues with monorail loop + Epcot studios.

Ok I just booked Poly as a safety net and will hope that I can switch over to BLT. We would like to try out BLT but we are totally ok with staying at Poly.

Beware, the BLT studios are tiny. Okay for 2 but any more than that would be uncomfortable. You might want to stay with the Poly.

Thanks for the warning but its just the hubs and me so we should be fine.

Just 2 will be fine, have a great trip. DW and I had a lake view studio, requested north wing, out side view. We had a great view of the MK and fireworks.

We own at AKV and Vero, but have been able to book or successfully waitlist other resorts at 7 months for Star Wars Dark Side 2016 and 2017. We stayed at the Poly both times, though, so this info may not help!

We love the Poly but my hubs wants to stay at Bacon Lettuce & Tomato (as he calls it) because he likes the modern decor. I would love to try GF some day!

We own at BWV and this past SW race we booked GF at about 6 months out. No problem. Hoping to do that again, we loved it.

A studio? We stayed there and while there were a couple days in the week still available there were holes as I recall. I switched out some days for non VGF points but not all because of availability. If you got it all at 6 months I think it was a cancellation. The larger villas were available though.

Yes a studio. We were only there for the races so checked in on Friday and out on Sunday.

It's so nice that on the monorail, you can have a BLT with a toaster, but there are GF (gluten free) options as well!

I love the Gluten-Free.

FWIW - there was a hole in the studios for the Friday before the Princess (2/23) and I got it off the waitlist about 8.5 mo out. But apparently I got the last one, because it's showing as a hole again.

I think it a good philosophy that if you have inflexible dates, ALWAYS book your home resort in home resort booking.

Any race event is an inflexible date.
