1900 is closing for a few months and it will be pre-plated at aonther GF place, not a buffet We chose b/c it was off-park character dinner with Cindy---served our needs and was tasty--but you have to see what the pre-plate is going to be.
I guess it really is all a matter of opinion. My family has done this dinner twice as well as the breakfast 6 or more times. We of course have small children who love the character interaction, which is A+ at this restaurant.
As far as the food quality, it is as good or better than you can expect from a buffet. There are always two carving offering as well as many side items. The chefs do try to offer a more sophisticated variation to ordinary foods like chiken and so on. In fact my DH loves their curry chicken. They have a pasta station with two different and very fresh options.
The children's buffet is just what you should expect, chicken strips, pizza and french fries with a few veggies. My kiddos will only eat so much of that before they insist on trying the adult fare, which they are allowed.
I have had many buffets at WDW and yes there are some that could use much help, however, I always enjoy this one for Breakfast or Dinner. Also this is the only place my DH can find his favorite strawberry-cheese crepes, a Disney must for him. Our next visit is 9/21 - 9/30. We will miss the re-opening of 1900 by 2 days. My DD6 and DH are crushed!
