When we flew mid-January, we were able to book flights only about a month in advance to take advantage of discounted airfare, due to the fact that the flights weren't very full. How does the first 2 weeks of December compare, does anyone know?
I think this will vary In NJ I booked about 10 or 11 months in advance and paid more than I usually pay and the price went up from there... other family paid 50 more a ticket then me about 3-4 months later. All airlines are booking flights to capacity and canceling others to save $$$. But i did find my normal time of year went down this year I booked around 7 months out and you can still get tickets for about 10 more but not good times the tiem I booked are about 40 more.
I think the cehapest prices for the more popular times is when they are first available for less popular times they sometimes go down they sell fast when they do
this is my experience it could differ where you are as it seems some popular-unpopular times are state specific
