How fast do you think Disney reacts with new mask guidelines?

This is currently the policy at Dollywood. I know I bring up Dollywood a lot but it is where we go and has implemented a safe reopening. Maybe Disney could do something like this which follows CDC guidance.

"The safety and well-being of our guests and employees remains our top priority. Dollywood's safety measures continue to remain consistent with guidance from health officials including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), appropriate state and local agencies, and expert consultants.
Our revised policy now allows fully vaccinated guests and guests aged 12 and under to visit Dollywood without wearing a mask or physically distancing (both indoors or outdoors).
Masks are required for non-vaccinated guests older than age of 12 in all indoor areas and remain optional in outdoor areas where social distancing can be maintained."

Once you make a no mask mandate for the vaccinated they have to know it’s a free for all. Many unvaccinated won’t wear masks too. But many vaccinated will continue to wear masks too. They aren’t going to police it so it’s expected.

Unless they also increase capacity, the parks are as full as they can be for at least this weekend and well into June. So the crowds won't be any different unless that changes at the same time.
Thats exactly what I was thinking.

They wont open too fast and not have enough restaurants open and hotels open. Thats where their money is made. I have a feeling Disney has a master plan right now to open up full capacity by the fall, but I think it will be methodically and carefully planned out.

If we learned anything under Chapek, money rules. If they can bring back many cast members, or hire new ones, I believe they would want to get to full capacity as fast as they can, based on all the money they have lost. I just think if they can make it happen, they will do it as soon as they can. They are going to make ALOT this summer. That remains to be seen though if they can get the employees

Absolutely true. If you can't check a vaccine card and somehow differentiate the vaccinated from non vaccinated, its a free for all. Unfortunately, in this scenario, many who should wear a mask won't.

In this country, the pandemic is coming to an end thankfully.
When only half the states have over 50% of the eligible population vaccinated (not even talking about kids yet), its improving, but not close to the end. Few states have reached the 70% mark.

For the distance and no outdoor masks Disney announced it about 5 hours after Universal. Going by that, I'd expect something later tonight from Disney. Possibly closer to when the parks are closed for the day today. Universal officially put it out at noon today. I know two families out of state that will probably book a trip the moment they know.

I don't want to turn this into a debate. Completely ignoring people who have been naturally infected in those numbers would be the first time in the history of Science that would be done. There are numerous doctors and infectious disease specialists who believe we have already hit 70 percent or are very close to it of the population including the ones who know they were infected, along with the large majority who never even knew they were. Even Fauci on GMA a few days ago said " hopefully in the next month or so we can get there " when asked how soon do you think we can get to an end to the pandemic in the states. He doesn't want to focus on the percentages. He says vaccines are key, which is deff true. I agree, vaccines are the key, and I had mine, but we can't discount natural either, as he says. Let's just be hopeful in the end. Some say a month from now, unvaccinated won't even need to continue wearing masks in the states. I respect everyones opinions and comfortableness

I'd love to be gloom and doom, but the facts don't match it. I pray it stays that way. I for one celebrate this time as a great achievement. I trusted CDC through the worst times. I trust them when things are getting better. Worried? Continue to wear a mask. No judgment. Don't judge the rest of us when we hit the parks maskless indoors in the coming weeks though

Everyone should want a return to normalcy. That means that the Covid pandemic is almost over if everything is normal, right?

You're putting the cart before the horse. You don't end a pandemic by ending precautions, you end precautions after the pandemic ends.

Covid is still a long way from eradication or even containment in the US, and running rampant in most of the world. Ignoring that doesn't end the pandemic sooner, it just makes it easier to spread and keeps it going longer.

Previous infection has been shown to provide little if any immunity to future infection. Look at Manaus, Brazil. 75% of the city had covid at once last July/August and there was another massive outbreak by November. The only way thay can happen is if the same people are getting infected again.

What about the kids? Do children 2-11 still need to wear a mask since they are not vaccinated? That will be difficult for parents to enforce when most adults aren’t wearing masks.

The policy at Universal is that unvaccinated people must still wear masks indoors. Kids 2-11 are obviously unvaccinated (with the exception of the few involved in clinical trials), so yes, they would be expected to wear a mask.

This isn’t any different than any other place who has dropped mask requirements for vaccinated people. I have a 5 year old and continue to wear my mask in solidarity with him until he can get vaccinated. It’s a simple thing to do as a parent.

We are in a much better place but the pandemic has not yet burned itself out. They will most likely drop mask requirements indoors, so it will be up to the individual to wear a mask or not. There are still thousands of unvaccinated, and some, like myself will never be able to receive the vaccine. I was the 'one in a million' who had an anaphylactic reaction to the first shot and sadly I cannot get the second shot. I plan on wearing a mask indoors, and in crowded situations outdoors for sometime to come. We just need to do what's best to protect ourselves and our loved ones.
