I think they'll do a press release about it this evening after 5:00 pm Eastern time.
This is my guess too. Sometime this evening.

Thats exactly what I was thinking.Unless they also increase capacity, the parks are as full as they can be for at least this weekend and well into June. So the crowds won't be any different unless that changes at the same time.
Thats exactly what I was thinking.
They wont open too fast and not have enough restaurants open and hotels open. Thats where their money is made. I have a feeling Disney has a master plan right now to open up full capacity by the fall, but I think it will be methodically and carefully planned out.
Absolutely true. If you can't check a vaccine card and somehow differentiate the vaccinated from non vaccinated, its a free for all. Unfortunately, in this scenario, many who should wear a mask won't.Once you make a no mask mandate for the vaccinated they have to know it’s a free for all. Many unvaccinated won’t wear masks too. But many vaccinated will continue to wear masks too. They aren’t going to police it so it’s expected.
When only half the states have over 50% of the eligible population vaccinated (not even talking about kids yet), its improving, but not close to the end. Few states have reached the 70% mark.In this country, the pandemic is coming to an end thankfully.
I think alot of people are so used to the lockdowns and covid that they almost dont want things to go back to normal (these are the same people who GOT the vaccine but still wear masks and stay home).
Everyone should want a return to normalcy. That means that the Covid pandemic is almost over if everything is normal, right?

You're putting the cart before the horse. You don't end a pandemic by ending precautions, you end precautions after the pandemic ends..

Previous infection has been shown to provide little if any immunity to future infection. Look at Manaus, Brazil. 75% of the city had covid at once last July/August and there was another massive outbreak by November. The only way thay can happen is if the same people are getting infected again.I don't want to turn this into a debate. Completely ignoring people who have been naturally infected in those numbers would be the first time in the history of Science that would be done. There are numerous doctors and infectious disease doctors who believe we have already hit 70 percent of the population including the ones who know they were infected, along with the large majority who never even knew they were.
That doesn't solve the issue. Most of the protection is from other people wearing masks, not you wearing one.I think a valid point is this, it is okay for you to not feel comfortable and not like that anyone can go maskless. To those feeling unsafe, you are still free to wear a mask..
So me wearing a mask doesn't protect me at all is what you are saying? That doesn't solve the issue. Most of the protection is from other people wearing masks, not you wearing one.
What about the kids? Do children 2-11 still need to wear a mask since they are not vaccinated? That will be difficult for parents to enforce when most adults aren’t wearing masks.
The crowds in the park won't change. Reservations are unavailable.Disney would be wise to remove mask requirement today for the long weekend however they can expect huge crowds if they do.
