How fast do I need to decide?

Hi all,
We're pretty sure we must postpone a WDW trip that was to be in early summer -- and we're thinking about re-scheduling for mid-October. I know it's obviously the prudent thing to book as soon as you can be sure about your dates, but so I'll know how quickly we need to get a new trip plan settled, I'm going to ask anyway-- How quickly do the sites—and the cabins for that matter—fill up for October? I know it's wonderful camping season and we could probably go either way, camp or cabin. Our dates would fall over a weekend, 4 nights.

Thanks FW friends!

When we were there the first week of October of 2003 the park was pretty full. We drove around some of the loops and only seen a couple of open sites. We did not see any of the non-prefered loops as we will only stay in a preferred loop.

We were there Oct 03 and only stay in the preferred sites. It seemed pretty full during that stay. Can't recall seeing any open sites but that doesn't mean there weren't any.

Except for Halloween, I always thought our October trips weren't that crowded. I don't remember how full FW was, but the parks weren't that crowded. Hot, but not crowded.

Yay, I decided!! and reserved! 4 nights FW cabin -- 10/7/-10/11.

Thanks for your posts!
