I've been trying to figure out how long it'll take us to get from Santee, SC to Disney. We plan on staying there overnight on the way down. Does someone know how far it is or do you have a site that lets you put in cities and tells you the distance?

Thanks!

From Santee if you can drive through with minimal stops (two, three tops that take no more than five minutes each) and you don't hit traffic, it's about eight hours. If you have to stop more often or longer, or run into traffic or wether, plan on ten or more.

Go to www.mapquest.com and put in your starting point and ending point and it will give you good directions. You can then plan on stopping somewhere along the route given.

in MY OPINION maps.expedia.com is way better than mapquest but thats only my opinion.

google isnt bad either.

Bob,

I don't want to hijack this thread so I sent you a PM. I'd be interested in hearing your opinions on Expedia vs Mapquest. I'm always looking for a better mapping service.

Santee is at Exit 98.

This gives you 98 miles to GA, it's about 111 miles thru GA. From the FL border to I4 is 120 miles. From I4 in Daytona to WDW is 65 miles.

Now how long is determined by how fast you drive and how many and how long your stops are (and traffic conditions).

So it's 294 miles from Santee to WDW Lets round that up to 300. If you can average 60mph it's 5 hours. If there are no delays along the way a "safe" estimate is 5.5 to 6 hours. Now most people don't average 60mph, most average 50mph so it's 6 hours by the formula and most likely 6.5 to 7 hours actually.

It normally takes me about 8 hours from SOB to Deltona and that's about 100 miles north of Santee and Deltona is about 45 miles north of WDW (It normally takes me 50 to 60 minutes to get to work at the TTC)

So I don't see why it can't be realisticly done in 7 hours.

Very simply put, you don't need a map to get from Santee to WDW.

It's about a 400 mile drive, most of it at 70 mph.

Get onto I-95 southbound, and stay there until you get to Daytona, FL. (about 330 miles) There are no tolls.

As you approach Daytona you'll use the well marked exit for I-4 southbound. In fact you can only go southbound at that point.

Stay on I-4 (it becomes a 65, then 60, then 50 mph speed limit as you near and then enter Orlando) and take that to exit 67. That is Epcot Center Drive. From there follow Disney's signage to your resort.

Check your math...it's a 400 mile drive, not 300...

I'd forgotten that I posted this thread....oops!

Thanks for the replies. I have to say I'm surprised that it's that far from Santee to Disney.

Mapquest says it'll take 8 hours to get from where I live (between Baltimore and D.C.) to Santee. It says 6 hours (400 miles) from Santee to Disney, which would be about 14 hours total and that's about what I was figuring on. I hope that's right! From my experience with mapquest, it's usually pretty accurate time wise.

Thanks!
