How Far ??

Can anyone tell me how far it is from Cambrian Lakes to the 192 its at the bottom end of Ponciana Bvld , has anyone stayed there ??.

Any help would be great

Hi Tony

Yes, we've stayed at Cumbrian Lakes. It's about 4 miles from the 192 and a very easy journey into WDW. As you hit the 192, you just need to cross it and then take a left onto the Osceola Parkway. You will have to pay the toll (I think it's probably 75c now), but it's worth it, IMHO. You'll cross International Drive South (with Gaylord Palms to your left), then the I-4 and then through the 'Welcome to Walt Disney World' arches.

We have stayed at Cumbrian Lakes, I agree with Deb about the location etc

As you drive down PB, you will pass other developments such as Terre Verde,
Eagle Pointe, Liberty Village , I think CL is the one after Indian Point (or LV) but I may be wrong....one thing the 'Cumbrian Lakes' sign is quite hidden so once you start to pass the other developments I would slow down a bit so you don't miss it - the first time anyway - like we did

It is very nice there, just be a bit wary on Poinciana , whilst access is very good for all the attractions etc , it is a busy but quite fast road.
So when you pull out onto it from CL just be aware that the traffic moves pretty quickly 50mph plus most of the time.

As you get to the junction of the 192, you have a Publix supermarket fairly close, turn right and then left at the junction of Vineland Road and it's just there on the right hand side.

You can also if you choose to, turn left onto the 192 and follow the directions to Disney from there, a few miles up the road, this will also take you to the I4 too.

Thanks Deb and Johnny we were going to stay at Wilshire but the owner sold it so we are looking at one at C L thanks for the info it will help us sort it out

Its a fair way down the road and its a busy road at times with only one lane in either direction in places. Additionally now they have finished the road works on the 192 they are about to launch themselves into widening Poinciana Boulevard. That could create a few problems.

I think they timed the Poinciana Blvd widening to coincide with my trip in october - just the right time to be affected by traffic chaos!

And i agree with the above - it is a quick-moving road, much like our country lanes in terms of speed - most people stick to a speed of between 50 - 60, you can always tell the first time US renters because they never go above 55, end up with a mile of locals on their bumper... much the same as the M25
