How far out for Aulani Hotel Room or Studio rental?

Hi Guys!! We are unfortunately not members yet... but we are going to Aulani on our honeymoon in October 2017, and I'm trying to figure out if I need to book this month with a rental company (11 months out) or if I can wait? We haven't finalized our exact honeymoon dates (work requirements, etc) and all that so I am getting a little stressed about when I *need* to have this requested.

It is highly doubtful all studio rooms will book up in the next few months. We do not own at Aulani and have been able to book at the 7 month mark for slower times like September and January. I wouldn't wait until that point since it is your honeymoon, but you should be fine waiting until your dates are finalized.

With DVC, the lowest cost rooms are often also the ones that are lowest in number at a resort and highest in demand. That is particularly true for Aulani hotel rooms and standard view. If you want either of those, you should be prepared to book 11 months out to assure getting a room because those can fill fairly quickly once the 11 month window opens for any time of the year. As to other rooms (and I assume you will be seeking a studio), all are usually open for at least a month beyond the 11 month window for any time in Oct. From beginning of Oct through Columbus Day weekend some days in island garden and poolside garden views can disappear before the 7 month reservation window opens when DVC members who own other resorts can start to book there, but after Columbus Day weekend those are typically open for the rest of the month even at 7 months out. Ocean view has been open in the past for the entire month at 7 months out.
